Port of Port Angeles commissioners are expected to select an executive director when they meet Monday.
Selection of an executive director to fill the position vacated by Ken O’Hollaren, who resigned effective Dec. 31, is on the agenda for 1:10 p.m. during the afternoon meeting that will begin at 1 p.m.
A morning workshop is planned at 9 a.m.
Both meetings will be in port headquarters at 338 W. First St.
Applicants are Karen Goschen of Sequim — who has served as interim executive director for half a year — David Walter of Port Angeles, James Kuntz of Walla Walla and Robert Uptagrafft of Everett.
At the afternoon meeting, commissioners also will consider a boating infrastructure grant for the Boat Haven fuel float and a bid award for the surveillance, access control and lighting improvement project.
They will review applications for the Marina Advisory Committee and the Timber Advisory Committee and consider a bid award for an apron construction at Fairchild International Airport.
During the morning workshop, they will head a quarterly report from the Economic Development Corp. at 10 a.m. and consider the Arrow Marine perspective on Oak Street Pier, a possible rebranding through a new logo and the port’s role in Olympic workforce development.
Clallam County
The three Clallam County commissioners will consider an agreement with Sound Law Center for hearing examiner services Tuesday.
The meeting will begin at 10 a.m. in the commissioners’ boardroom (160) at the Clallam County Courthouse, 223 E. Fourth St., Port Angeles.
Andrew Reeves of Sound Law Center was selected May 31 over three other candidates to be the county’s next hearing examiner.
Hearing examiners conduct hearings and adjudicate land-use matters, including appeals of Department of Community Development decisions and a variety of land-use permits.
Other action items include:
■ Recognition of Sheriff’s Deputy Melvin Kempf for more than 26 years of service to Clallam County.
■ A proclamation recognizing Health and Human Services Director Iva Burks for more than 10 years of service to Clallam County.
■ A land purchase agreement to resolve pending litigation and expand public access and use.
■ A personal services agreement with K&H Printers for the printing and mailing of 2016 primary election ballots.
■ A special use permit with the U.S. Forest Service for construction, maintenance and operation of a segment of the Olympic Discovery Trail on U.S. Forest Service lands.
■ An agreement with Shannon & Wilson Inc. for engineering design services for the design phase of the Lower Dungeness floodplain restoration project.
■ A call for bids for the remodel of the second level of the Clallam County building at 111 E. Third St. in Port Angeles.
■ A notice of a July 12 hearing for the proposed sale of a surplus Sheriff’s Office pistol with three magazines.
■ Adoption of a $44,370 supplemental appropriation for the receipt of additional developmental disabilities funding from the state Department of Social and Health Services.
Commissioners will hold their weekly work session at 9 a.m. Monday to preview items set for action at future meetings.
Scheduled discussion items include:
■ Applications and next steps for a proposed ad hoc committee on public defense services.
■ A letter of support for a Floodplains by Design Dungeness River off-channel reservoir proposal.
■ A briefing from the Port Angeles Citizen Action Network.
■ A call for bids for a boiler replacement project at the Clallam County Courthouse.
■ A proposed easement purchase for the Olympic Discovery Trail.
■ Striped Peak Road and the Transportation Improvement Program.
■ A proposed grant request to purchase permanent agricultural conservation easements on Port Williams and Schmuck roads.
Commissioners will hold a special meeting with county elected officials and department heads at 1:30 p.m. Thursday.
The discussion will include a review of public records management.
Clallam PUD
Clallam County Public Utility District commissioners will consider establishing a scan and toss policy in regards to the destruction of non-archival source documents Monday.
The meeting will begin at 1:30 p.m. in the Lake Crescent boardroom at the Carlsborg main office, located at 104 Hooker Road.
Sequim City Council
The Sequim City Council will consider the scope of work for the Guy Cole Convention Center revitalization project when it meets Tuesday.
The council will meet at 5 p.m. at the Sequim Civic Center, 152 W. Cedar St., beginning with a work session on the 2017 budget.
The $436,500 project is funded through the state Department of Commerce. Work is expected to be completed by March.
The council also will consider asking for grant assistance from the state Recreation and Conservation Office for construction of tennis courts at Carrie Blake Park and site improvements at the Sequim Little League fields.
It will hear an update on paving projects.
Forks City Council
The Forks City Council will set a hearing date for the city’s 2017-22 six-year street plan when they meet Monday.
The council will meet at 7:30 p.m. at City Hall, 500 E. Division St.
The council also will consider a contract with PC Trask & Associates for steelhead regulation policy and facilitation support.
Hospital conference
Commissioners with Olympic Medical Center in Port Angeles, Forks Community Hospital and Jefferson Healthcare in Port Townsend will meet Wednesday.
The special meeting will be from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the River Room at Campbell’s Resort at 104 W. Woodin Ave., Chelan.
The meeting, at which no formal action is expected, will follow the 40th annual Rural Hospital Conference, presented by the Washington State Hospital Association and the Association of Washington Public Hospital Districts.
The commissioners will discuss affiliations and the Olympic Community of Health and behavioral health.
