Port Angeles City Council members will hear a report on tourism marketing Tuesday.
The regular meeting will begin at 6 p.m. at City Hall, 321 E. Fifth St. It will be preceded by a 5 p.m. executive session to discuss potential litigation.
The 15-minute tourism presentation will be delivered by Vertigo Marketing of Bend., Ore., which was awarded a $199,863 contract for 2017.
Council members also will discuss sending a statement to city water users about the Aug. 3 cessation of the city’s water fluoridation program until a November 2017 advisory ballot measure to recommend to the council whether to restart fluoridation.
The cost to the city would range from $975 to send the notice only to utility bill recipients, to $2,100 to send it to all city households, to $3,800 to send it to all households in the city and the rural area east of Port Angeles that receives city water.
City Council members also will receive an update on a 60-day program to increase police patrols of the downtown area to reduce aggressive panhandling.
Port Angeles lodging tax
The Port Angeles Lodging Tax Advisory Committee will hear a presentation by Vertigo Marketing on Tuesday.
The panel will meet at 10 a.m. in council chambers at City Hall, 321 E. Fifth St.
The committee also will hear an update on the status of lodging tax funds and perform a preliminary review of the lodging tax budget.
Clallam County
Clallam County commissioners will hear a briefing on conservation efforts of the North Olympic Land Trust on Monday.
The work session will begin at 9 a.m. in Room 160 of the Clallam County Courthouse, 223 E. Fourth St., Port Angeles.
Other discussion items include:
• A draft ordinance adding a chapter to county code for weed management along roads, highways and bridges.
• The proposed establishment of development standards for vacation rentals.
• An information technology briefing on the video recording of commissioner meetings.
• An agreement with ARINC Inc. for engineering and technical support to help maintain the Public Safety Radio Network.
• Final approval of an 11-lot subdivision off Octane Lane in a Rural Limited Commercial zone.
• A possible lease of county-owned parcel 205 E. Fifth St. in Port Angeles to the William Shore Memorial Pool District.
• Personnel positions.
Commissioners will meet in executive session at 9 a.m. Tuesday to discuss pending litigation.
They will gather at 10 a.m. for their regular business meeting.
Action items include:
• An agreement with the Jamestown S’Klallam tribe to conduct a population survey for Olympia oysters.
• Contract renewal with the Administrative Office of the Courts for court-appointed special advocate services.
• An agreement with the city of Forks to provide one or more deputy sheriffs to the Forks Police Department to supplement law enforcement staffing as needed within the city.
• Agreement with Building Control Systems Inc. for a camera and recording installation project in the county jail.
• Notice of call for bids for a door and hardware replacement project at the county courthouse.
• Notice of an Oct. 18 hearing on proposed amendments to veterans’ assistance policy.
Clallam Transit
The Clallam Transit board will consider a grant match agreement for a bus stop at Lake Crescent when it gathers in Forks on Monday.
The meeting will begin at 1 p.m. at the Peninsula College Forks Extension, 481 S. Forks Ave.
Other action items include approval of the general manager’s salary and regional mobility grant applications.
The board will also hear a presentation on a Forks Transit Center kiosk, status updates and a report from the operations department.
Planning commission
The Clallam County Planning Commission will consider possible action on recommended code amendments for existing, ongoing agriculture alternative development standards and related definitions Wednesday.
The meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. in Room 160 of the Clallam County Courthouse.
A public hearing is also scheduled for a recommendation on the county’s six-year Transportation Improvement Program.
Sequim schools
The Sequim School Board will hear a report on increasing parent and community involvement when it meets Monday.
The board will meet at 6:30 p.m. at 503 N. Sequim Ave.
The board also will hear a report on legislative priorities.
It will offer the post of interim executive director of business and finance to Heidi Hietpas for the 2016-17 school year.
Olympic Medical Center
Olympic Medical Center commissioners will consider a resolution amending the CEO’s compensation when it meets Wednesday.
Commissioners will meet at 6 p.m. in Linkletter Hall in the basement of the hospital at 939 E. Caroline St., Port Angeles.
Also on the agenda are the YMCA lease, reports on an opioid task force and a state committee on telemedicine and Peninsula Behavioral Health service agreements.
Clallam PUD
The Clallam County Public Utility District commissioners’ meetings for Monday and Sept. 26 have been canceled.
The next meeting will be Oct. 3.
