The Port Angeles City Council will consider a resolution for general fund revenue sources to support a code compliance program when it meets at 6 p.m. Tuesday.
The meeting will be in the City Council chambers at City Hall, 321 E. Fifth St.
The city has been without a code enforcement program since 2012.
Options for funding a program in the future include the use of fines and fees, a levy lid lift ballot measure and a camera traffic safety program.
Other agenda items for the council meeting include:
• A resolution renaming West End Park as Pebble Beach Park in both English and Klallam languages.
• A discussion on council participation at public venues.
• A city manager performance review.
• A think tank discussion on vacant property, a compassion charter, the Transportation Advisory Committee and parking.
County commissioners
Clallam County commissioners will hear an update on the Salish Behavioral Health Organization at a meeting that begins at 9 a.m. Monday.
The work session will be in the commissioners’ board room (160) at the Clallam County Courthouse, 223 E. Fourth St., Port Angeles.
Other discussion items include:
• A contract amendment with the state Department of Ecology for a $3,150 increase to a solid waste funding agreement.
• An agreement with Olympic National Park to grow locally-sourced native plants at the National Park Service’s Matt Albright Native Plant Center.
• An agreement with the state Department of Ecology for an water quality stormwater grant.
• An agreement with the Jamestown S’Klallam Tribe for two annual population surveys of Olympia oysters at the restoration sites in Blyn.
• A legislative session update.
Commissioners will conduct their regular business meeting at 10 a.m. Tuesday.
Action items include:
• A letter of intent to the state Department of Natural Resources for the Dungeness off-channel reservoir project and Clallam County parks.
• A contract amendment with the state Department of Corrections for prisoner transport.
• A resolution for disbursement of domestic violence prevention funds.
• A call for April 2 hearing on proposed amendments to the 2019-2024 Transportation Improvement Program.
• A call for April 2 hearing on the proposed allocation of Highway Improvement Program and Surface Transportation Program funds.
Board of Health
The Clallam County Board of Health will discuss West End vaccination rates and the Forks syringe exchange when it meets in Forks at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday.
The board will meet in the Lee Merrick conference room next to the administration building at Forks Community Hospital, 550 Fifth Ave.
The board also will discuss West End outreach, the role of the Behavior Health Advisory Board and the Bullman Beach water system, and hear updates on the youth suicide prevention program, the youth smoking prevention program and the secure medicine return. Public comment will be taken.
Sequim schools
The Sequim School Board will undertake a preliminary review of the proposed 2019-20 budget when it meets at 5 p.m. Monday.
The workshop will be at 503 N. Sequim Ave. It will be followed by the regular business meeting at 5 p.m.
The board will hear a report on finances and enrollment and consider policies concerning service animals, district relationships with law enforcement and other agencies and an update from the Carlsborg Sewer Committee.
Marine Resources
The Clallam County Marine Resources Committee will hear updates on oil spill preparedness along the Strait of Juan de Fuca and oiled wildlife training Monday.
The meeting will begin at 5:30 p.m. in Room 160 at the Clallam County Courthouse.
Other agenda items include projects for the 2019-2020 grant cycle, an Opportunity Fund application, Orca forum planning and the committee’s marine trades position.
Fire District 3
Clallam County Fire District 3 commissioners will discuss a Jamestown S’Klallam Tribe communications tower when it meets at 1 p.m. Tuesday. The commissioners will meet at 323 N. Fifth Ave., Sequim.
They also will discuss facility vehicle purchase authorization and human resource management The district covers the east side of Clallam County with a small portion in Jefferson County.
Clallam Transit
The Clallam Transit board is scheduled to meet at 10 a.m. Wednesday.
The meeting will be held at the Clallam Transit System administrative building at 830 W. Lauridsen Blvd., Port Angeles.
