The Port Angeles City Council will conduct a first reading on a proposal to lower the speed limit on South Lincoln Street from 30 to 25 mph when it meets at 6 p.m. Tuesday.

Council action would occur after a second reading of the ordinance Feb. 2. The staff proposal would set a 25 mph speed limit on South Lincoln Street between Front Street and Lauridsen Boulevard and a short section of U.S. Highway 101 between Lauridsen Boulevard and Oak Street.
It also would provide for a speed transition from the 45 mph zone on the city’s west side, Public Works and Utilities Director Thomas Hunter said in a memo.

• A resolution to waive first- and second-quarter PBIA fees and interest on accounts receivable.
• An update on COVID-19 financial assistance.

County commission
Clallam County commissioners will appoint members to the 2021 Districting Commission at 10 a.m. Tuesday.

The Districting Commission, composed of Walter Livingston, John Teichert, Bradley Collins, Beverly Hetrick-Oostgerveld and Jim McEntire, will hire a districting master to propose new county district boundaries based on the results of the 2020 U.S. Census.

• A resolution appointing Bruce Hanify as Clallam County District Court 2 judge.
• An agreement with Canyon City Solutions Software for True Star Behavioral Health Services clinical documentation and billing.

• An ordinance eliminating the Lake Aldwell code section for boating and water safety. The lake was drained in 2012.

Board of Health

Sequim schools
The Sequim School Board will consider a phased-in approach to returning students to the classroom when it meets at 6 p.m. Tuesday.
