The Port Angeles City Council will consider proposed code amendments to increase residential building capacity and housing diversity at 6 p.m. Wednesday.
The meeting will be in the City Council chambers at City Hall, 321 E. Fifth St.
Other agenda items for the council meeting include:
• A climate change action plan and resolution.
• A discussion on Veterans Park fence design.
• An ordinance levying property tax collections in 2020.
• An ordinance amending the public records chapter in county code.
• A presentation by Creative Districts Program Manager Annette Roth.
• An electric, water and wastewater supervisory control and data acquisition server system replacement.
County commissioners
Clallam County commissioners will discuss the creation of a conservation futures fund at 9 a.m. Monday.
The work session will be in the commissioners’ board room (160) at the Clallam County Courthouse, 223 E. Fourth St., Port Angeles.
Conservation futures may be used for maintaining, conserving and otherwise preserving adequate open space lands, according to a draft ordinance.
Other agenda items for the weekly work session include:
• A briefing and call for hearing on proposed policy changes for emergency procedures.
• Agreements with the Sequim, Port Angeles and Quillayute Valley school districts for the provision of transition program training.
• A resolution authorizing action on current use assessment applications pursuant to county code.
• A discussion on takeaways and next steps from a Jefferson Dinner on climate change.
• Preparation for a Nov. 14 meeting with state legislators.
• An agreement with Olympic Peninsula Visitor Bureau to increase funding for its enhancement grant program.
• At 1 p.m. Monday, commissioners will discuss a proposed indirect cost allocation plan in a continued work session.
Commissioners will conduct their regular business meeting at 10 a.m. Tuesday.
Action items include:
• A letter of assurance for the Accessible Communities Act.
• A proclamation honoring all veterans and the volunteers who assist them and recognizing Nov. 11 as Veterans Day.
• An agreement with Aldergrove Construction, Inc. for the Clallam County Courthouse and Third Street building signage improvements project.
• A contract with Peninsula Community Health Services for the Hub and Spoke program to combat that state opioid epidemic.
• An agreement with the state Department of Ecology for local solid waste financial assistance.
• A resolution authorizing Clallam County Public Works to accept a clean water state revolving fund loan from Ecology and an agreement with Ecology for water quality combined financial assistance.
• Notice of a Nov. 26 hearing on resolutions establishing the county’s 2020 general purpose and road fund property tax levies.
• A public hearing on proposed amendments to employee benefits policy.
Sequim schools
The Sequim School Board will consider high school graduation requirements at 6 p.m. Monday.
The meeting will be in the board room of the district at 503 N. Sequim Ave.
Other agenda items include a first readings on a policy to regulate dangerous weapons on school premises, a sick leave policy and school improvement plans.
Fire District 3
Clallam County Fire District 3 commissioners will hear a 2020 budget proposal at 1 p.m. Tuesday.
The meeting will be held at district headquarters, 323 N. Fifth Ave., Sequim.
Commissioners also will hear a 2018 annual report.
The district covers the east side of Clallam County with a small portion in Jefferson County.
Public Utility District
There will be no meetings of the Clallam County Public Utility District commissioners Monday or Nov. 11.
The next meeting will be Nov. 25 in Forks.
