The three Clallam County commissioners will hear a briefing on state legislation affecting mental health and chemical dependency services and discuss the construction of a Lake Crescent segment of the Olympic Discovery Trail on Monday.
The briefing will begin at 10 a.m. in the commissioners’ boardroom (160) at the Clallam County Courthouse, 223 E. Fourth St., Port Angeles.
Commissioners also will discuss next steps in a Department of Community Development investigation.
The board will gather for its regular business meeting at 10 a.m. Tuesday.
Other agenda items include:
■ A certificate of good practice from the county Road Administration Board.
■ A contract amendment with Tetra Tech revising scope of work and extending the contract.
■ A contract amendment with the state Department of Health revising the statement of work for two programs and increasing funding.
■ A resolution appointing a member to the Permit Advisory Board.
■ A public hearing on a proposed resolution allocating regional surface transportation program funding for 2012 to 2015.
■ A public hearing on a proposed ordinance amending the excise tax code for enhanced 9-1-1 emergency communications systems to include a fee for prepaid wireless services.
Clallam PUD
Clallam County Public Utility District commissioners will consider an agreement with Clallam County for the relocation of utilities and easement for the Old Olympic Highway widening project Monday.
The meeting will begin at 1:30 p.m. in the boardroom of the Port Angeles main office, 2431 E. U.S. Highway 101.
District commissioners will also consider contractor prequalifications and customary business.
Port Angeles city
Port Angeles City Council members will consider a $13.09 million contract with an Everett-based construction company to complete the city’s landfill bluff stabilization project when they meet Tuesday.
The meeting will begin at 6 p.m. in council chambers at City Hall, 321 E. Fifth St.
The meeting will be preceded by an executive session starting at 5 p.m. to discuss potential litigation with legal counsel.
A public hearing is planned on proposed city financial policy changes. The hearing will begin at or near 6:30 p.m. and be continued to the May 20 meeting.
Under the proposed landfill contract, Magnus Pacific Corp. of Everett will relocate farther back from the edge 399,110 cubic yards of buried waste from a portion of the shuttered landfill threatening to fall down a bluff into the Strait of Juan de Fuca.
Other agenda items include:
■ An ordinance changing the city’s utility billing cycle from 30 days to 25 days.
■ First reading of an ordinance rezoning 1.36 acres of land along Fourth and Fifth streets near Race Street zoned residential to commercial.
■ A $247,947 construction management contract with Bellevue-based Vanir Construction Management for the city’s West End Park project.
Olympic Medical Center
Olympic Medical Center commissioners will consider declaring the office building at 902 E. Caroline St. as surplus Wednesday.
The meeting will begin at 12:30 p.m. in Linkletter Hall in the lower conference area of the hospital at 939 E. Caroline St., Port Angeles.
Other agenda items include new provider introductions, employee recognition, a compliance update, employment agreement, pediatric hospitalist program update, professional services agreement, an amendment to a Peninsula Behavioral Health agreement and a resolution for the small-works roster process.
Planning Commission
The Clallam County Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on current use-assessment applications for the second half of 2013 on Wednesday.
The hearing will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the commissioners’ boardroom (160) at the Clallam County Courthouse.
The commission also will hold a work session to discuss proposed revisions to the draft comprehensive stormwater management plan and land use and zoning for the Carlsborg sewer project.
Sequim School Board
The Sequim School Board will consider final approval of several policies as well as alternative learning programs for the 2014-15 school year when it meets Monday.
The board will meet at 7 p.m. at 503 N. Sequim Ave.
It will consider policies concerning highly capable programs, diplomas for veterans, equivalency credit for career and technology programs, and use of school facilities.
