Clallam County commissioners will discuss a recent hearing examiner order related to Midway Metals at 9 a.m. Monday.
The work session will be in the commissioners’ board room (160) at the Clallam County Courthouse, 223 E. Fourth St., Port Angeles.
In a Sept. 6 ruling, Hearing Examiner Andrew Reeves found that the owner of the property at 258010 U.S. Highway 101 violated county code because of junk that has accumulated there.
He ordered the owner, Katrina Haymaker, to abate all violations and pay a $750 fine.
Haymaker has said she would build a fence at least six feet tall around the property, provide a surety bond and purchase a license from the county.
Other agenda items for the work session include:
• A request for approval to create an additional environmental health specialist position to complete grant-funded onsite sewage system management work.
• A request for proposals to provide behavioral health and related services in 2020.
• A pre-application grant questionnaire with the Office of Crime Victims Advocacy for the STOP formula grant.
• An amended agreement with the U.S. Forest Service for additional funding and the extension of a performance period.
• An amended resolution to reflect the current minimum wage.
• A discussion on a state Department of Ecology clean water state revolving fund loan.
• An update on Jefferson Dinners: Cli- mate Change.
• A monthly budget performance review.
• At 1 p.m. Monday, commissioners will hear a presentation on ethnographic and archaeological research on an ancestral village of the Jamestown S’Klallam Tribe.
Commissioners will conduct their regular business meeting at 10 a.m. Tuesday.
Action items include:
• An agreement with K&H Printers for the printing and mailing of 2019 general election ballots.
• An amended agreement with the state Department of Ecology for funding Clallam County Marine Resources Committee operations and projects.
• An agreement with U.S Department of Transportation for funding the Olympic Discovery Trail.
• A right-of-way agreement for construction of a section of the Olympic Discovery Trail between Freshwater Bay and Thompson roads.
• A public hearing on a resolution declaring surplus property and authorizing sale.
Port of Port Angeles
Port of Post Angeles commissioners will discuss 2020 operating budget assumptions when they meet at 10 a.m. Wednesday.
The special meeting will be in the port administration building at 338 W. First St., Port Angeles.
Commissioners also will discuss 2019 operating procedures and the port advisory committee.
During the regular session, commissioners will consider revising the delegation of authority policy.
Time permitting, there will be a brown bag lunch and open discussion with the commission.
Olympic Medical Center
Olympic Medical Center commissioners will hear an operations update when they meet at 6 p.m. Wednesday.
The board will meet in the basement conference area of the hospital at 939 Caroline St.
An executive session will set to discuss current or potential litigation.
Port Angeles city
The Port Angeles City Council will consider a code amendment allowing the payment of downtown Parking and Business Improvement Area assessments for properties within 500 feet of the PBIA district at 6 p.m. Tuesday.
The regular session will be in the City Council chambers at City Hall, 321 E. Fifth. St. It will be preceded by a special meeting for an executive session to discuss potential litigation and to discuss collective bargaining.
Other agenda items include:
• A first reading on an amendment to the Police Department section of municipal code.
• Acceptance of a grant for Lincoln Street safety improvements.
• A discussion on updates of the Port Angeles municipal code.
• Acceptance of a grant for the REdis- COVERY program.
• An affordable housing fact sheet.
• A Constitution Week proclamation.
Clallam Transit
The Clallam Transit board will consider a new employment agreement with General Manager Kevin Gallacci at 10 a.m. Wednesday.
The meeting will be at the Clallam Transit System administration building at 830 W. Lauridsen Blvd.
Gallacci became general manager in August 2017.
Other action items include Transit advertising, finance department position changes and a seventh-grade transit education program.
Marine Resources
The Clallam County Marine Resources Committee will hear a presentation on the Clallam County Environmental Health’s surface water quality monitoring program at 5:30 p.m. Monday.
The meeting will be in Room 160 at the Clallam County Courthouse.
The presentation will include a description of how BEACH volunteers contribute to the program and work done by program partners.
Other agenda items are a discussion on the 2019 and 2020 internship programs, committee leadership and an update on efforts to remove marine debris along the Strait of Juan de Fuca.
Board of Health
The Clallam County Board of Health will discuss proposed on-site septic system program fees at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday.
The meeting will be in Room 160 at the Clallam County Courthouse.
Other agenda items include a discussion on Open Public Meetings Act training, a presentation on the Port Angeles Fire Department’s community paramedicine program and an update on the Chronic Disease Task Force.
Planning commission
The Clallam County Planning Commission will conduct a public hearing at 6 p.m. Wednesday on the proposed re-zone of 0.96-acres of land at the southeast corner of U.S. Highway 101 and Taylor Cut-Off Road from rural low to Carlsborg commercial.
The meeting will be in Room 160 at the Clallam County Courthouse.
A Mobil gas station sits on the subject property.
Other agenda items include a discussion on a public participation plan for mineral resource lands.
Housing Authority
The Peninsula Housing Authority Board will discuss amended payment standards for a housing choice voucher program at 1 p.m. Wednesday.
The meeting will be in Room 42 in the basement of the Clallam County Courthouse.
Other agenda items include a discussion on the executive director position description and an amendment to the executive director succession plan.
Port Angeles Lodging Tax
The Port Angeles Lodging Tax Advisory committee will discuss budget allocations for 2020 lodging tax funds at 3 p.m. Wednesday.
The meeting will be in the City Council chambers at City Hall, 321 E. Fifth St.
Other agenda items include goals and priorities for the committee and a review of application criteria for 2020 lodging tax-funded projects.
Port Angeles parks
The Port Angeles Parks, Recreation and Beautification Commission will hear a presentation on the Port Angeles Senior Center’s 50th anniversary celebration at 6 p.m. Thursday.
The meeting will be in the City Council chambers at City Hall.
Other agenda items include a director’s report on the capital facilities plan, project and maintenance updates and committee discussion.
