EYE ON CLALLAM: Flooding expenses topic of public hearing

Meetings across Clallam County

The Clallam County commissioners will conduct a public hearing on expenditures related to flooding when they meet at 10 a.m. Tuesday.

Most Tuesday business meeting items will be previewed at a work session at 9 a.m. Monday.

The debatable emergencies related to flooding that will be the topic of the public hearing include $2,000 in additional Public Works Department payroll, $25,000 for emergency cleanup for the Sheriff’s Office and $10,000 for overtime.

Commissioners also will acknowledge the receipt of the final redistricting plan.

They will consider $21,000 to Black Ball Transportation Inc. for the COVID-l9 Vaccine Marketing Campaign.

Other agenda items are:

• An agreement with the Department of Commerce for a Violence Against Women STOP grant.

• An agreement with Environmental Systems Research Institute for $95,400 to upgrade geographical information systems.

• A proposal concerning affordable housing 2060 funds.

• A consolidated contract between the state Department of Health and Clallam County Health and Human Services.

• An agreement with Tacoma-Piece County Health Department for access to online food worker card training services.

• Resolutions regarding grant applications for the Dungeness Off-channel Reservoir project.

• Resolutions related to increased funding limits for child care services under the American Rescue Plan Act.

• Several appointments to advisory boards and committees.

• A call for a public hearing regarding the shoreline master program review set for 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 11.

Counties’ association

The Washington State Association of Counties will hear a weekly update on COVID-19 when they meet at noon Monday.

Both Clallam and Jefferson counties will participate.

Board of Health
