The three Clallam County commissioners will consider awarding a bid to Aldergrove Construction of Port Angeles for improvements to the century-old county courthouse Tuesday.
The meeting will begin at 10 a.m. in the commissioners’ boardroom (160) at the Clallam County Courthouse, 223 E. Fourth St., Port Angeles.
Other agenda items include:
■ An agreement with the William Shore Memorial Pool District for clerk services.
■ An agreement with First Step Family Support Center for the Parents as Teachers Program.
■ A contract amendment with the Lower Elwha Klallam tribe adding funding for services at Klallam Counseling.
■ A contract amendment with Olympic Personal Growth Center adding funding.
■ A contract amendment with Reflections Counseling Services Group adding funding for chemical dependency treatment services to unfunded clients.
■ A resolution calling for a Feb. 17 hearing regarding sale of surplus property.
■ An ordinance rescinding Clallam County Code for the distressed county sales tax credit.
Commissioners will meet at 9 a.m. Monday for their weekly work session.
Discussion items include:
■ Modifications to commissioner designations on various boards, and a proposed appointment to the Olympic Region Clean Air Agency.
■ A request for qualifications for professional engineering services for the McDonald Creek bridge seismic retrofit project.
■ A proposed transfer of code enforcement activities from the Sheriff’s Office to the Department of Community Development.
Clallam PUD
Clallam County Public Utility District commissioners will hold a work session Monday.
The meeting will begin at 1:30 p.m. at the Port Angeles main office, 2431 E. U.S. Highway 101.
The purpose of the work session is for staff to review changing market conditions relating to interconnection of distributed generation and review suggested changes to district policies regarding net and production metering.
Charter review
The elected Clallam County Charter Review Commission will establish subcommittees to examine proposed charter amendments Monday.
The meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. at the Clallam County Courthouse.
Other agenda items include reports on finance and open public meetings training.
Port Angeles city
Port Angeles City Council members will consider authorizing City Manager Dan McKeen to sign tourism promotion and visitor center contracts for 2015 with the Port Angeles Regional Chamber of Commerce when they meet in regular session Tuesday.
The meeting begins at 6 p.m. in council chambers at City Hall, 321 E. Fifth St.
Council members also will hear an update on the activities of the Port Angeles Downtown Association and a presentation on the Port of Port Angeles Composite Recycling Technology Center.
The tourism promotion contract is for $175,000 and the visitor center operations contract $78,000.
Council members also will consider taking action related to a Clallam County Superior Court injunction request filed by unsuccessful visitor center contract bidder Dale Wilson, publisher of the free newspaper Port O Call, who offered the bid with Jessica Elliot, the newspaper’s managing editor.
“It was a lower and better bid than the bid accepted by the city and, without this injunction, about to be contracted to the highest, worst bidder, the chamber,” Wilson said in his injunction request.
City officials contended that the City Council does not have to accept the lowest bid.
After a Superior Court hearing on Wilson’s request was delayed to Friday, Wilson offered to drop the pursuit of an injunction if the city agrees to interview the top three finishers for the contract.
City staff is recommending that McKeen be authorized to sign the contract Tuesday.
Olympic Medical Center
Olympic Medical Center commissioners will receive an update on the Olympic Medical Heart Center when they meet at 12:30 Wednesday in Linkletter Hall in the basement of the hospital, 939 Caroline St., Port Angeles.
Other agenda items include:
■ Recruitment agreements with primary care physicians.
■ A service agreement with Volunteers in Medicine of the Olympics.
■ An update of the 2014-16 strategic plan.
■ A review of OMC’s investment policy.
■ An update on information technology storage and service.
■ Employee recognition.
