The three Clallam County commissioners will consider approving a draft ordinance updating the accessory housing section in their weekly workshop meeting on Monday.
They also will consider actions related to opioids during the workshop which begins at 9 a.m. Monday. The weekly business meeting will begin at 10 a.m.

Among the opioid-related actions will be a Memorandum of Understanding with other Washington municipalities regarding the distribution of funds from the recent settlement with entities in the opioid supply chain. Also, the county will weigh-in on the scheme of arrangement in the Chapter 11 Bankruptcy proceedings filed by Mallinckrodt PLC. The county is a creditor in the bankruptcy as a result of its claims against the company related to its role in the opioid crisis.

• A agreement with the Clallam Economic Development Council for the disbursement of $643,916 in economic assistance grants to 39 county businesses and 10 local nonprofits.
• A notice for a public hearing on Tuesday, April 5, regarding a proposed new sales tax to help fund affordable housing.
• Agreements with Olympic Peninsula Community Clinic for $107,520 and with Correctional Healthcare Companies Inmate Healthcare services for $403,270 to provide medication assisted treatment to inmates in the county jail.
• An agreement with the Sequim Food Bank for $189,950 in American Rescue Plan Act grant funding for pre-construction costs and personnel retention costs.
• A request to hire five new full-time staff members at Health and Human Services Department; the positions are fully funded by state foundational public health services grants.
• An update on 2021 roadside integrated weed management activities and the 2022 weed management plan.
• Invitations for bids on the Dry Creek Road reconstruction project and the 2022 asphalt products supply contracts.
• An agreement with Olympic Timber LLC to donate right of way for Hoko Ozette Road to the county road department.
• A letter of support to Senator Patty Murray regarding the continued federal funding of $3 million per year for the Northwest Straits Marine Conservation Initiative.
• An agreement with United Way of Clallam County for $59,000 in American Rescue Plan Act grant funding for the Clallam Resilience Project.
• Amendments to the agreements with the Department of Health for $1,016,643 in funding for Group A water systems, $4,800; COVID-19 vaccine, $143,921; maternal-child health services, $8,187; onsite septic program, $318,778; and emergency preparedness, COVID-19 and prescription drug overdose prevention, $540,957.
