Clallam County commissioners will discuss long-term space concerns for the Clallam County jail at a meeting that will begin at 9 a.m. Monday.
The work session will be in the commissioners’ board room (160) at the Clallam County Courthouse, 223 E. Fourth St., Port Angeles.

County Sheriff Bill Benedict will discuss with commissioners and facilities staff a long-term plan to address inadequate medical infrastructure, insufficient space for video court hearings and no space for inmate video visitation, according to an executive summary.
“All of these upgrades are necessary for both continuing accreditation and to conform to best practices for detention facilities,” the summary read.
“Addressing these issues before replacing all of the jail control systems might save significant money in the future.”
Other agenda items for the work session include:
• An agreement with the state Health Care Authority for substance use disorder prevention services.
• A discussion and request for authorization for a permit planning project.
• An agreement with the state Department of Commerce for Olympic Peninsula Narcotics Enforcement Team (OPNET) operating costs.
• Notice of a call for bids for the Sequim-Dungeness Way/Woodcock Road roundabout.
• A discussion and request to adjust American Rescue Plan Act funds for food support for local food banks.
The board will hear a quarterly income report from the state Department of Natural Resources at 1 p.m. Monday.
Commissioners will conduct their weekly business meeting at 10 a.m. Tuesday.
Action items include:
• A bid opening for a joint emergency operations center and 9-1-1 dispatch center in west Port Angeles.
• An agreement with the state Administrative Office of the Courts for support of a family and juvenile court improvement plan.
• An agreement with the state Administrative Office of the Courts for reimbursement costs for attorneys to represent a parent or court visitor.
• An agreement with Children’s Home Society of Washington for Parents for Parents Program.
• An agreement with Habitat for Humanity of Clallam County for American Rescue Plan Act funds.
• A resolution appointing Walter Morton to the Clallam Bay/Sekiu Community Action Team.
• A resolution authorizing action on current use assessment applications pursuant to Clallam County open space code.
Association of counties
The Washington State Association of Counties will hear a weekly update on COVID-19 when they meet at noon Monday.
Both Clallam and Jefferson counties will participate.

Public Utility District
Clallam County Public Utility District commissioners will discuss Bonneville Power Administration’s post-2028 contract at 1:30 p.m. Monday.

The Forks City Council will hear updates on the Quillayute Airport, Spartan Avenue to Blackberry Avenue sidewalks and Project Matrix at 7:30 p.m. Monday.
The meeting will be at Forks City Hall, 500 E. Division St.

Port of Port Angeles commissioners will review a strategic plan and discuss a lease rate for an industrial building near William R. Fairchild International Airport at 9 a.m. Tuesday.
The meeting will be in the port’s administration building, 338 W. First St., Port Angeles.
Other agenda items include a capital projects report and a Port of Toledo tour recap.
Clallam Transit
Clallam Transit board members will consider the 2021-2026 Transit Development Plan after conducting a public hearing on it when they meet at 10 a.m. Wednesday.

The Port Angeles School Board will consider adopting a budget when it meets at 7 p.m. Thursday.
The board meets in Room 208 at the Lincoln Center at 905 W. Ninth St.
