Clallam County commissioners will discuss a letter from the city of Sequim that urges the board to maintain an existing interlocal agreement for criminal justice services when they meet Tuesday.
The work session will begin at 9 a.m. in the commissioners’ board room (160) at the Clallam County Courthouse, 223 E. Fourth St., Port Angeles.
The letter from Sequim City Manager Charlie Bush asks commissioners to rescind and withdraw a July 10 letter that discussed the termination of the criminal justice services agreement.
Commissioners will conduct their regular business meeting at 10 a.m. Tuesday.
Action items include:
• A certificate recognizing Port Angeles City Manager Dan McKeen for his six years of service to the city.
• An agreement with the city of Port Angeles to memorialize the 2 percent indirect rate to be applied to taxes, revenues and/or grant money collected for the support of enhanced 9-1-1 operations.
• An agreement with city of Port Angeles for joint purchase, deployment and maintenance of an emergency notification and alert system.
• An agreement with the state Department of Ecology for the Shorelands National Coastal Wetlands Conservation grant program.
• A call for Sept. 18 hearing for the sale of surplus property.
• A public hearing to repeal an ordinance that was never codified but proposed certain amendments to the Clallam County Home Rule Charter.
Commissioners are scheduled to attend a Thursday luncheon and Thursday community meet-and-greet with the four candidates for Clallam County administrator.
The board is scheduled to interview the candidates in an executive session from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday.
Olympic Medical
Olympic Medical Center commissioners will hear of Medicare physician clinic reimbursement cuts when they meet at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday.
The meeting will be in Linkletter Hall in the basement conference area of the hospital at 939 Caroline St., in Port Angeles.
Commissioners also will consider resolutions authorizing the treasurer to invest in Local Government Investment Pool and to amend contact signing authority.
Port Angeles city
The Port Angeles City Council will consider an agreement with the city of Sequim when it meets at 6 p.m Tuesday.
The meeting will be in the City Council chambers at City Hall, 321 E. Fifth. It will be preceded by an executive session to discuss potential litigation and to consider the minimum price at which real estate will be offered.
The proposed agreement with Sequim is in response to Clallam County’s intent to terminate its agreement for criminal justice services with each city.
The council also will consider a code compliance enforcement fund ordinance and amending the city code concerning the hearing examiner.
Fire District 3
Clallam County Fire District 3 commissioners will consider a fire apparatus plan when they meet at 1 p.m. Tuesday.
The meeting will be at 323 N. Fifth Ave., Sequim.
Commissioners also will consider a commissioner association check and retroactive chaplain stipends.
The district covers the east side of Clallam County with a small portion in Jefferson County.
Planning commission
The Clallam County Planning Commission’s Wednesday meeting was canceled because of a lack of a quorum. The commission will reconvene Sept. 19.
