Clallam County commissioners will consider an agreement with the Jamestown S’Klallam Tribe to conduct Olympia Oyster surveys as part of a Marine Resources Committee restoration project when they meet at 10 a.m. Tuesday.
The business meeting will be in the commissioners’ boardroom (160) at the Clallam County Courthouse, 223 E. Fourth St., Port Angeles. The weekly work session will be at 9 a.m. Tuesday. A special meeting is planned from 1:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. for an executive session.
Other action items at the business meeting include:
• An agreement with the Federal Highway Administration to put $27,843 towards the cost incurred by the county Road Department for the application of chip seal to a portion of Hoko Road.
• A resolution appointing Tim Bruce to the Homelessness Task Force.
• A resolution appointing Andy Brastad to the Chemical Dependency/Mental Health Program Fund Advisory Board.
• A call for a Sept. 19 public hearing on proposed amendments to the county’s marijuana ordinance, including a prohibition against pot sales in Joyce.
Discussion items for the work session include:
• A contract with the Washington Traffic Safety Commission for a traffic safety project.
• An agreement with the Washington State Administrative Office of the Courts for court-appointed advocate services.
• An agreement with the Washington State Administrative Office of the Courts for the Becca truancy program.
• Contracts with Pierce, Jones and Associates LLC and Concerned Citizens for the provision of individual supported employment, community information and education, and county millage.
• A $1,341 change order for the jail roof replacement project.
• A call for bids for security improvements for Clallam County Superior Court.
• A call for bids for a water line replacement at the Salt Creek Recreation Area.
The special meeting in the afternoon is in response to the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office request for an executive session to discuss pending litigation concerning Riggs v. Messinger et al.
Commissioners will reconvene in open session and take action, if any.
Port Angeles City Council
The Port Angeles City Council will hear a presentation on code enforcement of blighted properties Tuesday.
The meeting will begin at 6 p.m. in council chambers at City Hall, 321 E. Fifth St.
Other agenda items include a first reading of a proposed budget amendment, proposed code revisions for advisory boards and commissions, and a resolution adding an emergency preparedness policy to the personnel polices and procedures manual.
Port of Port Angeles
Port of Port Angeles commissioners will review the draft 2018 capital budget when they meet at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday.
The special meeting will be at port headquarters, 338 W. First St.
Commissioners also will consider changes in the community partner program policy and a bid award for the multi-tenant industrial building facility.
Sequim schools
The Sequim School Board will hear an update on the July budget when it meets at 6 p.m. Tuesday.
The board will meet in the district office at 503 N. Sequim Ave.
It will hear public comment after considering the consent agenda.
The board will recess into executive session to discuss contract negotiations.
Clallam PUD
Clallam County Public Utility District commissioners will hear a comparison of the district’s rates vs. comparable regional utilities’ rates Tuesday.
The meeting will begin at 1:30 p.m. in the Lake Crescent boardroom of the PUD main office in Carlsborg, located at 104 Hooker Road.
Other agenda items include a facilities report, a memo of completion for a vegetation management excavator and a resolution establishing titles and monthly salary ranges for employees.
Planning Commission
The Clallam County Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on a zoning map amendment application Wednesday.
The meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. in Room 160 at the Clallam County Courthouse.
Vine Street Investors LLC applied to amend the land-use and zoning map for 1.3 acres of land presently zoned as urban very low density/open space to urban neighborhood commercial.
The land is in the eastern Port Angeles Urban Growth Area north of U.S. Highway 101 off Brook Avenue and North Lee’s Creek Road, west of Safeway.
Other agenda items for the Planning Commission meeting include a continued work session on a revised draft Clallam County Shoreline Master Program.
Growth management committee
The Clallam County-Sequim-Port Angeles-Forks Growth Management Steering Committee will hold a continued review of a 1992 countywide planning policy Thursday.
The meeting will begin at 4 p.m. in Room 160 at the Clallam County Courthouse.
Olympic Medical Center
Olympic Medical Center commissioners will consider an architectural and engineering agreement for the Central Sterile Processing Expansion project when they meet at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday.
The meeting will be in Linkletter Hall in the basement of the hospital at 939 E. Caroline St., Port Angeles.
Commissioners also will consider an agreement with the United Food and Commercial Workers support services union.
They will view software for the human resources department and a contract amendment with Envision Healthcare for anesthesia coverage, and hear an update on legislative and government affairs.
Port Angeles schools
The Port Angeles School Board will discuss the Lincoln Center when it meets at 7 p.m. Thursday.
The board will meet at the Central Services Building, 216 E. Fourth St.
The board also will hear reports on food service, collaborative days, summer school, Washington State School Directors’ Association legislative proposals and a capital levy.
