Clallam County commissioners will discuss an equity agenda and resolution condemning discrimination during a work session that begins at 9 a.m. Monday.

Commissioner Mark Ozias has drafted a revised Clallam County equity agenda and accompanying resolution that attempts to capture the spirit, language and direction that was provided in previous board discussions, according to an executive summary.
The proposed resolution states that “all residents of Clallam County are entitled to equal civil rights; that hate, bigotry and violations of civil rights be opposed by all and that we recognize and celebrate the ethnic, racial, cultural, religious and social diversity of our community.”
Other agenda items for the work session include:
• A discussion on sustainable harvests on state forest lands.
• An update on Federal Emergency Management Agency flood maps.
• An agreement with the Washington Secretary of State for a combined state and local voter’s pamphlet.
• Notice of a June 15 public hearing for proposed vacation of county sewer line easement near Sekiu Airport Road.
Commissioners will conduct their weekly business meeting at 10 a.m. Tuesday.
Action items include:
• Approval of the Homelessness Task Force recommendations for 2021 state funding proposals.
• A letter of support for the Marine Resources Committee.
• A proclamation recognizing the week of May 9 as Peace Officers’ Memorial Week.
• An amended agreement with the U.S. Forest Service for noxious weed control.
• Agreements with Clallam County Genealogical Society, New Dungeness Light Station, North Olympic History Center and Sequim Museum for the Heritage Grant program.
• A call for bids for pressure washing and minor repairs at the Clallam County Courthouse.
• A call for bids for an annual supply of hot mix and liquid asphalt.
• A resolution appointing Justin Pollack to the Carlsborg Community Advisory Council.
• A resolution appointing Helen Kenoyer to the Behavioral Health Program Fund Advisory Board.
• Notice of a May 25 public hearing for policy amendments for purchasing, bids and contracts.
• A resolution creating a non-departmental American Rescue Plan Act special revenue fund.
• Notice that supplemental appropriations and a budget reduction will be adopted May 25.
• A call for May 25 hearing for consideration of debatable budget emergencies.
Association of counties
The Washington State Association of Counties will hear a weekly update on COVID-19 when they meet at noon Monday.
Both Clallam and Jefferson counties will participate.

Port of Port Angeles
Port of Port Angeles commissioners will conduct an executive session to evaluate applicants for a position when they meet at 8 a.m. Tuesday.

Public Utility District
Clallam County Public Utility District commissioners will receive a report on the district’s 100 percent rating for reliability and system improvement, safety, workplace development and financial health at 1:30 p.m. Monday.

The Sequim City Council will conduct public hearings on manufactured home park uses and standards as well as on downtown districts when it meets at 6 p.m. Monday.
