Clallam County commissioners will consider adopting a 2020 budget after two public hearings on Tuesday.
The hearings will begin at 10:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. in the commissioners’ board room (160) at the Clallam County Courthouse, 223 E. Fourth St., Port Angeles.
The draft 2020 budget contains $42.9 million in revenues, $45.9 million in expenditures and maintains $11.6 million in general fund reserves, according to an executive summary.
Commissioners will conduct their regular business meeting at 10 a.m. Tuesday.
Action items include:
• An amended agreement and contract extension with Clair Co. for Judy Lee litigation. Lee filed a lawsuit against the county over a building permit for a proposed 25,000-square-foot bed and breakfast.
• A contract amendment with the state Department of Health for the Opioid to Action Plan.
• An agreement with CDW Government for an Information Technology strategy, planning and road map overview project.
• An agreement with Puget Sound Partnership for Clallam County to monitor the effectiveness of its Shoreline Master Plan.
• An agreement with the state Department of Commerce for the STOP Violence Against Women formula grant program.
• A lease agreement with the state Department of Natural Resources for communication site building space and tower space.
• A letter of agency and carrier notification of change in 9-1-1 services with the state Military Department.
• A public hearing on a proposed amendment to comprehensive plan map and zoning map.
• A public hearing for the consideration of a debatable budget emergency, a $13,100 cost related to an ER&R rate increase.
Commissioners will conduct their weekly work session at 9 a.m. Monday.
Among the discussion items is a proposed code amendment adding a chapter entitled Redirection of Existing Sales and Use Tax Revenues for Affordable Housing — House Bill 1406.
Olympic Medical Center
Olympic Medical Center commissioners will hear of OMC Foundation donations when they meet at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Commissioners will meet in the basement conference room of the hospital at 939 Caroline St., Port Angeles.
They will hear updates on the community paramedicine program, home health update and a community health needs assessment
Port Angeles city
The Port Angeles City Council will consider adopting a 2020 budget at 6 p.m. Tuesday.
The meeting will be in council chambers at City Hall, 321 E. Fifth St.
The draft citywide budget is balanced at $129.7 million. It was balanced without the use of general fund or street reserves, according to an executive summary.
Other agenda items for the meeting include:
• A lease agreement with the Port of Port Angeles for space to house city parks maintenance staff and materials.
• An amended ordinance for 2020 wastewater non-taxable future utility rates.
• A resolution supporting ranked choice voting.
• A presentation on the Dream Playground.
• A discussion on the process to fill a vacant City Council seat.
• A 2020 cost of living adjustment for management and other non-represented workers.
• An amended professional services agreement with Integral for the Port Angeles Harbor Cleanup project.
The council will discuss council committees, community outreach and compensation at a think tank at 5 p.m. Tuesday.
No action is expected at the think tank.
Planning commission
The Clallam County Planning Commission will hear an overview on mineral lands at 6 p.m. Wednesday.
The meeting will be in Room 160 at the Clallam County Courthouse.
The overview will be given by the state Department of Natural Resources.
Sequim schools
The Sequim School Board will have new members sworn in and will elect officers when it meets at 6 p.m. Monday.
The board will meet at 503 N. Sequim Ave.
Board members will here review of board liability and board policies, discuss the superintendent’s contract and consider several policies.
Strait ERN
The meeting of the Strait Ecosystem Recovery Network will be from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Friday at the Jamestown S’Klallam Tribe’s Red Cedar Hall in the Community Center, 1033 Old Blyn Highway in Blyn.
The Strait ERN is one of the Puget Sound Partnership’s Local Integrating Organizations working to implement the Action Agenda for Puget Sound protection and recovery.
It includes all of the tribes and local jurisdictions, and most of the non-governmental organizations, educational institutions and key business groups with interest in the Strait Action Area, which extends from Cape Flattery near Neah Bay east to Point Wilson in Port Townsend, said coordinator John Cambalik.

Fire District 3
Clallam County Fire District 3 commissioners will discuss their response and standard operating procedures to motor vehicle collisions when they meet at 1 p.m. Tuesday.
The meeting will be at station headquarters, 323 N. Fifth Ave., Sequim.
The district covers the east side of Clallam County with a small portion in Jefferson County.
