Clallam County commissioners are encouraging the public to view their meetings online in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Commissioners will conduct a work session at 7:30 a.m. Monday and a business meeting at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday in Room 160 at the Clallam County Courthouse, 223 E. Fourth St., Port Angeles.
Meetings are streamed live and archived at www.clallam.net/features/meetings.html.
“In response to the current pandemic, to promote social distancing, and in compliance with Governor’s Proclamation 20-14 which limits the size of gatherings, the Board of Commissioners strongly encourages the public to take advantage of remote options for attending open public meetings,” the Monday agenda said.

Discussion items for the work session include:
• Annual developmental disabilities funding recommendations.
• A consolidated homeless grant.
• A request for a part-time position in Juvenile and Family Services.
• A resolution establishing alternate positions to all 15 member categories on the Marine Resources Committee.
• An agreement with Feiro Marine Life Center for a 2020 internship program.
• A presentation from Clallam Conservation District.
• An agreement with Peninsula Daily News for legal advertising.
• An agreement with the state Military Department and U.S. Department of Homeland Security for an emergency management performance grant.
• An agreement with Peninsula Behavioral Health to ensure the jail has coverage to provide safe cell evaluations.
• A Sheriff’s Office mental health position update.
Agenda items for the Tuesday business meeting include:
• A public hearing on a proposed fireworks ordinance. The hearing will be continued to May 11.
• A proclamation recognizing March 30 as Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans Day.
• A modified agreement with Olympic National Forest to reimburse the Sheriff’s Chain Gang for work on U.S. Forest Services land in Clallam County.
• An agreement with Sound Law Center, LLC to provide code enforcement Hearing Examiner services.
• A land purchase agreement with Pacific West Timber Company LLC, for right-of-way along Hoko Ozette Road for culvert replacement work.
• Notice of a call for bids for 2020 rock crushing.
• A resolution authorizing a supplemental leave program for COVID-19.
• A resolution for Board of Equalization member reimbursement.
Sequim City Council
The Sequim City Council plans two public hearings at 6 p.m. Monday.
Starting Monday, the council meetings will be conducted virtually — by electronic means — to slow transmission of the COVID-19 virus.
Members of the public can hear meetings broadcast in the lobby of the Sequim Civic Center at 152 W. Cedar St., and online at www.sequimwa.gov/669/City-Council- Boards-Commission- Media.
Residents are urged to listen at home but those listening in person must sit or stand 6 feet apart.
There will be no public comment period, but written comments can be sent by email to City Clerk Sara McMillon at smcmillon@sequimwa.gov.
To participate in the hearings, send written comments to the city clerk by 4 p.m. Monday.
Teleconferencing will be set up beginning at 5 p.m., with the meeting beginning at 6 p.m.
Public hearings are planned on a moratorium for manufactured home parks and on interim controls relating the subdivision guarantees.
An executive session is planned to discuss potential litigation and the qualifications of an applicant for public employment.

Forks City Council
The Forks City Council will consider declaring an emergency to address issues with COVID-19 on Monday.
The meeting will begin at 7:30 p.m. at Forks City Hall, 500 E. Division St.
Other agenda items include a letter of support for an Olympic Discovery Trail Calawah River bridge, Gagnon/Soloman annexation and a lease agreement with ARINC, Inc.
Charter Review Commission
The Clallam County Charter Review Commission meetings for March 26, April 9, April 16 and April 23 have been canceled out of “an abundance of caution” over COVID-19.
Future scheduled meetings will be re-evaluated regularly in conjunction with the current public health officials’ recommendations, clear of the commission Loni Gores said in a cancellation notice.
