Government meetings across Clallam County

The three Clallam County commissioners will hear a legal summary of the county’s nuisance regulations in their weekly work session Monday.

The commissioners’ work session, at 9 a.m. Monday, will preview items set for action at their formal meeting, which starts at 10 a.m. Tuesday.

The hybrid meetings will be conducted in the commissioners’ meeting room in the Clallam County Courthouse, 223 E. Fourth St., Port Angeles.

Agenda items include:

• A request for an additional employee for human resources/risk management.

• An update on recent developments regarding the joint public safety facility with the city of Port Angeles.

• A presentation regarding the use of two county-owned parcels adjacent to Peninsula College for an affordable housing project.

• A notice of a public hearing at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 3, to correct scrivener errors in the county shoreline management code.

• A resolution to approve $24,400 in heritage fund grants to Dungeness River Nature Center, $4,000; North Olympic History Center, $4,950; North Olympic Peninsula Railroaders, $2,500; Port Angeles Fine Arts Center, $7,950; and Sequim Museum and Arts, $5,000.

• A resolution to grant $59,000 in American Rescue Plan Act funding to the United Way of Clallam County for the collaborative learning academy.

• A resolution to grant $62,537.28 of American Rescue Plan Act funding to the Black Diamond Water District to relocate a water main.

• A notice of a public hearing 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 3, regarding an ordinance to change the composition of the county board of health. The proposal expands the board to nine members, but removes the two at-large positions.

• A resolution altering precinct boundaries in the city of Forks pursuant to the annexation of previously unincorporated parts of the county during 2020 and 2021.

• A resolution altering precinct boundaries in the city of Port Angeles to maintain all precincts at less than 1,500 voters.

• Several resolutions appointing members to various boards and commissions.

• Opening of bids for the 2022 hot mix and liquid asphalt supply contract .

The Forks City Council will consider a resolution to apply for a grant from the state Recreation and Conservation Offfice in partnership with the Quillayute School District when it meets at 5:30 p.m. Monday. Participants can attend in-person at 500 Division St., or online.

Sequim city

The Sequim City Council will conduct a work session on homelessness and related issues at 5:30 p.m. Monday.

Peninsula College trustees will host a series of in-person meetings to solicit public comment on finalsits for college president beginning Monday.
