Clallam County commissioners will discuss the 2019 draft budget and hear an update on the chief financial officer position Monday.
The work session will begin at 9 a.m. in the commissioners’ board room (160) at the Clallam County Courthouse, 223 E. Fourth St., Port Angeles.
Other agenda items include a monthly budget performance review.
Commissioners will hold their regular business meeting at 10 a.m. Tuesday.
Action items include:
• A bid opening for an IT data center cooling project.
• A resolution reappointing Linda Keen to the Lodging Tax Advisory Committee.
• Notice that supplemental appropriations will be adopted Dec. 4.
• A call for hearings on Dec. 4 for consideration of debatable budget emergencies and on the proposed 2019 Clallam County budget.
• An invitation for bids for the Ward Bridge scour repair.
• The sale of surplus property near the Deer Park underpass.
Commissioners will conduct a public hearing at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday on the 2019-2024 Transportation Improvement Program.
Port Angeles city
The Port Angeles City Council will conduct a public hearing on the 2019 budget at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.
The hearing will be in the City Council chambers at City Hall, 321 E. Fifth.
Another public hearing will be held for consideration of a 1 percent property tax levy increase.
The regular City Council meeting will begin at 6 p.m. in the same place.
Discussion items include a Bonneville Power Administration TC-20 settlement, meetings on election nights, council office space and council think tanks.
Sequim schools
The Sequim School Board will consider approving city of Sequim acquisitions for the West Fir Street Rehabilitation Project when it meets at 6 p.m.
The board will meet at 503 N. Sequim Ave. A workshop will precede the regular meeting at 4:45 p.m. to the survey results.
It will consider policies concerning elections, director orientation and the oath of office.
Crescent schools
The Crescent School Board will consider hiring four substitute teachers and three substitute paraeducators when they meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
The meeting will be in the Crescent School Library, 50350 state Highway 112.
Other action items include certification of 2019 excess property taxes and the declaration as surplus ceiling lights removed from the gymnasium.
Other agenda items include a finance and enrollment report, student and school programs report and a superintendent’s report.
Clallam Transit
The Clallam Transit board will consider a reserve funds policy when it meets at 1 p.m. Monday.
The meeting will be at the Clallam Transit System administration building at 830 W. Lauridsen Blvd.
Other action items include the general manager evaluation process and treasurer and auditor designation.
Library system
The North Olympic Library System board will consider approving the proposed 2019 budget after a public hearing on it when it meets at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday.
The board will meet at the Port Angeles Library, 2210 S. Peabody St.
The proposed budget is $4.5 million. The budget for 2018 was $4.3 million.
The board will consider the 2019 levy.

Public Utility District
Clallam County Public Utility District commissioners will consider a contract of $365,300 with Lawhead Architects P.S. of Bellevue to provide services for the Operations Building in Forks when they meet at 1:30 p.m. Monday.
The special meeting will be in the Lake Crescent Boardroom at the Carlsborg main office, located at 104 Hooker Road.
Commissioners also will consider adopting a meter strategy, execution of the Transmission Customers Settlement Agreement and a contract for the purchase of renewable energy credits.
They will cast votes for nominees to the Pubic Power Council executive board and accept as completed a contract for the removal and replacement of poles, transmission conductors and distribution conductors for the Airport Road to Laird’s Corner project.
Board of Health
The Clallam County Board of Health will discuss legislative issues with state Sen. Kevin Van De Wege, D-Sequim, and state Rep. Mike Chapman, D-Port Angeles, at 1 p.m. Tuesday.
The meeting will be in Room 160 at the Clallam County Courthouse.
The legislative meeting will include the Homelessness Task Force and Chemical Dependency/Mental Health Advisory Board.
Fire District 3
Clallam County Fire District 3 commissioners will consider approving a 2019 budget after it conducts a public hearing on it at 1 p.m. Tuesday.
Commissioners will meet at 323 N. Fifth Ave., Sequim.
The district covers the east side of Clallam County with a small portion in Jefferson County.
Marine Resources
The Clallam County Marine Resources Committee will discuss the 2019-2024 strategic plan at 5:30 p.m. Monday.
The meeting will be in Room 160 at the Clallam County Courthouse.
Other agenda items included an update on Streamkeepers, a MyCoast app, a no anchorage zone in Clallam County, Northwest Straits Commission updates and project updates.
Planning commission
The Clallam County Planning Commission meeting for Wednesday has been canceled.
The commission will reconvene at 6 p.m. Dec. 5 in Room 160 at the Clallam County Courthouse.
