Clallam County commissioners will discuss strategic planning and hold a monthly financial review Monday.
The work session will begin at 9 a.m. in the commissioners’ chambers (Room 160) at the Clallam County Courthouse, 223 E. Fourth St., Port Angeles.
Commissioners are revisiting a countywide economic development strategic plan that was adopted in 1992.
They are also monitoring the county’s financial performance every month, comparing it with the adopted budget for 2017.
Other discussion items for the work session include:
• A resolution authorizing expenditures from the Hotel/Motel Tax Fund for approved lodging tax funding applications.
• A request to sign a letter to approve an assembly permit application for Olympic Relay Adventure.
• A request for proposals for engineering design services for a fish passage facility on McDonald Creek.
• A resolution creating a new fund for vessel registration fees.
• A call for hearing on the proposed sale of three surplus sheriff’s office pistols.
• An amended agreement with Correctional Healthcare Cos. LLC for inmate health care services.
The work session also will preview items set for action at their formal meeting, which begins at 10 a.m. Tuesday.
Agenda items for the Tuesday meeting include:
• A contract amendment with the state Department of Ecology for the final engineering for the Lower Dungeness River setback levee and McDonald Creek feasibility and implementation project.
• A resolution re-establishing and modifying revolving, petty cash and change funds for the Health
and Human Services Department.
• Notice that supplemental appropriations and budget reductions will be adopted Feb. 28.
• A call for Feb. 28 hearing for the consideration of debatable budget emergencies.
Clallam County, Port of PA
Clallam County and Port of Port Angeles commissioners will conduct a joint meeting to hear quarterly reports from the Composite Recycling Technology Center, Small Business Development Center and Economic Development Corp. on Monday.
The meeting will begin at 10:30 a.m. in Room 160 at the Clallam County Courthouse.
The boards will also present resolutions honoring Clallam County Commissioner Bill Peach and Forks City Attorney/Planner Rod Fleck.
Sequim city
The Sequim City Council will consider adopting a list of priorities for 2017-18 when it meets Monday.
The council will meet at 6 p.m. at the Sequim Civic Center, 152 W. Cedar St.
It also will consider funding strategies to improve and maintain streets and sidewalks, an ordinance amending the 10 percent open space requirement and the wastewater source control program.
Forks city
The Forks City Council will consider selecting a firm for engineering services at Quillayute Airport when it meets Monday.
The council will meet at 7:30 p.m. at 500 E. Division St.
It will discuss a Forever Twilight in Forks collection at the Rainforest Arts Center.
Clallam PUD
Clallam County Public Utility District commissioners will conduct a work session with staff to discuss the district’s 2017 communications plan Monday.
The meeting will begin at 1:30 p.m. in the Lake Crescent boardroom at the Carlsborg main office, located at 104 Hooker Road.
Olympic Medical Center
Olympic Medical Center commissioners will hear about the YMCA lease and the Sequim Cancer Center expansion project when they meet Wednesday.
Commissioners will meet at 6 p.m. in Linkletter Hall in the basement of the hospital at 939 E. Caroline St., Port Angeles.
They also will discuss strategic plan, organization chart revisions, North Olympic Healthcare Network Recruitment agreements and the 2017 information technology capital plan.
Quillayute Valley schools
The Quillayute Valley School Board will consider renewal of the superintendent’s contract when it meets Tuesday.
The board will meet at 6 p.m. in the library at Forks High School, 261 S. Spartan Ave.
Board members also will discuss the replacement of Spartan Stadium, consider adopting the Jefferson County All Hazards Mitigation Plan and consider a student incentives policy.
Clallam Conservation District
The Clallam Conservation District board will hear a Dungeness Irrigation District and Sequim Prairie intake structure update Tuesday.
The meeting will begin at 3 p.m. in Suite H at Armory Square, 228 W. First St., Port Angeles.
Other agenda items include proposed cost-sharing program changes, cooperator and cost-share agreements, and an executive session for employee performance reviews.
Planning commission
The Clallam County Planning Commission will review rural land zoning land use tables and development standards Wednesday.
The meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. in Room 160 at the Clallam County Courthouse.
Other agenda items include a letter of transmittal with findings of facts and conclusions regrading a proposed ordinance for vacation rentals and bed-and-breakfast inns.
Peninsula College
Peninsula College trustees will meet Tuesday.
They will meet at 2 p.m. in Cornaby Center on the Peninsula College Port Angeles campus at 1502 E. Lauridsen Blvd.
Trustees will hear reports from Luke Robins, president, and discuss a mission study and tenure.
