The three Clallam County commissioners will consider an agreement with the state Department of Ecology to fund the Clallam Marine Resources Committee on Tuesday.
The meeting will begin at 10 a.m. in Room 160 of the Clallam County Courthouse, 223 E. Fourth St., Port Angeles.
The one-year, $72,050 grant will enable the Marine Resources Committee to continue its work on marine debris, kelp monitoring, outreach and education, native species restoration and oil spill awareness, preparedness, prevention and response.
Other action items for the business meeting include:
• A proposed ordinance amending county code for existing and ongoing agriculture practices in critical areas.
• A proposed memorandum of understanding with the William Shore Memorial Pool District for the property at 205 E. Fifth St. in Port Angeles.
• A bid opening for a courthouse door and hardware replacement project.
• A request for proposals for chemical dependency, mental health and co-occurring services and housing and homelessness services.
Commissioners will conduct a work session at 9 a.m. Monday to preview items set for action at future meetings.
Discussion items include:
• An agreement with the state Department of Commerce to provide funding for the investigation, disruption and prosecution of drug and gang organizations.
• An agreement with Motorola Solutions Inc. for the purchase of 15 Motorola mobile radio packages for the Sheriff’s Office.
• Easement purchases for the Olympic Discovery Trail between Freshwater Bay and Camp Hayden roads.
• A proposed ordinance amending county code for Clallam Bay/Sekiu sewerage rates.
Sequim City Council
The Sequim City Council will consider accepting a $450,000 grant from the state Department of Commerce for the Guy Cole Center Revitalization Project when it meets Monday.
The council will meet at 5 p.m. at the Sequim Civic Center, 152 W. Cedar St.
First on the agenda is a work session in which council members will tour Gerhardt Park.
During the regular meeting, the council will consider the Guy Cole project grant. Work on the Guy Cole center is expected to be completed March 31.
The council also will review the proposed 2017 budget. The budget is scheduled to be considered for adoption Nov. 28.
The council will consider continuing a public hearing to Oct. 24 on a proposed new chapter on vacation and alteration of binding site plans and subdivisions.
Carlsborg UGA
The Clallam County Department of Community Development will hold a community workshop on proposed amendments to the county’s comprehensive land use plan and zoning for the 560-acre Carlsborg Urban Growth Area on Thursday.
The workshop will begin at 6:30 p.m. at Greywolf Elementary School, 171 Carlsborg Road, Carlsborg.
The proposed amendments were recommended by the Carlsborg Community Advisory Council.
The county Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on the proposed changes Oct. 19.
Thursday’s workshop is intended to inform Carlsborg residents about the proposals and to provide an opportunity for feedback.
Input gathered from the workshop will be presented to the Planning Commission.

Utility advisory
The Port Angeles Utility Advisory Committee will discuss an industrial transmission electric rate ordinance amendment when members meet Tuesday.
The meeting will be at 3 p.m. in the Jack Pittis Conference Room at City Hall, 321 E. Fifth St.
There are no impacts to the city or the city’s residential or commercial customers if the City Council approves the amendments, Power Resource Manager Gregg King said in a memo to the committee.
Committee members also will discuss an amendment to a professional services agreement for Phase 2 of the Combined Sewer Overflow project.
They will discuss a municipal code update to the industrial wastewater pretreatment program.
Forks City Council
The Forks City Council will consider adopting a general sewer and wastewater facility plan as well as ordinances pertaining to disorderly conduct when it meets Monday.
The council will meet at 7:30 p.m. at 500 E. Division St.
The council will consider amending city code regarding disorderly conduct and disorderly conduct pertaining to privacy.
It also will consider adopting the 2015 International Building Code, as well as a sublease between Interfor U.S. Inc. and the University of Washington.
Clallam public defense
The Clallam County Ad Hoc Committee for Public Defense Services will discuss recommendations on Tuesday.
The meeting will begin at 2 p.m. in the commissioners’ small conference room (150) at the Clallam County Courthouse.
Clallam Conservation District
Clallam Conservation District officers will discuss cooperator and cost share agreements, elect officers and hear project updates when they gather Tuesday.
The meeting will begin at 3 p.m. in Suite H at Armory Square, 228 W. First St., Port Angeles.
Updates will be on a pollution identification and correction project, a Dungeness Irrigation District piping project and a Sequim Prairie-Tri Irrigation Association piping project.
Clallam PUD
The Clallam County Public Utility District commissioners’ meeting for Monday has been canceled.
The next regular meeting will be Oct. 17.
