The three Clallam County commissioners will consider agreements with the County Road Administration Board for paving Old Olympic Highway from U.S. Highway 101 to the Sieberts Creek bridge on Tuesday.
The meeting will begin at 10 a.m. in the commissioners’ boardroom (160) at the Clallam County Courthouse, 223 E. Fourth St., Port Angeles.
Other agenda items include:
■ A contract amendment with the County Road Administration Board adding funds for improvements to Lower Elwha Road between Mileposts 0 and 0.78.
■ An agreement with the state Department of Commerce’s Office of Crime Victims Advocacy.
■ An agreement with the state Department of Agriculture for knotweed control.
■ An agreement with AHBL of Tacoma for a courthouse stormwater retrofit project.
■ A resolution authorizing action on current use-assessment applications.
■ Introduction of Michele Devlin by Prosecuting Attorney William Payne.
Commissioners will meet in the same boardroom at 9 a.m. Monday for their weekly work session to discuss action items, a resolution of intent to renew Lake Sutherland Management District 2 and a proposed chemical dependency inpatient and detoxification facility.
Board of Health
The Clallam County Board of Health will hear a health officer’s report on measles outbreaks Tuesday.
The meeting will begin at 1:30 p.m. in Room 160 of the Clallam County Courthouse.
Other agenda items include:
■ An update on medical and recreational marijuana for local and tribal health.
■ A health director’s report on alcohol, tobacco and opiate use.
■ Information on Middle East Respiratory Syndrome, or MERS, imported to the U.S.; a Trust for America’s Health statement on the National Climate Assessment; and Department of Health highlights on federal budget cuts and sequestration.
Olympic Medical Center
Olympic Medical Center commissioners will consider awarding a bid for the emergency room expansion project Wednesday.
The meeting will begin at 6 p.m. in Linkletter Hall in the lower conference area of the hospital at 939 E. Caroline St., Port Angeles.
Using a $20 million expansion loan approved last fall, the hospital is adding 2,800 square feet to the emergency room in a $2.3 million expansion project expected to be complete next spring.
OMC expects an increase of newly insured patients using its emergency room.
Those extra rooms are expected to be open Jan. 31.
The hospital board also will consider an advanced practice clinician employment agreement and hear an administrator’s report on the strategic plan, advocacy and use of 2013 debt funds.
Port Angeles city
The Port Angeles City Council will conduct the first of two public hearings on proposed rate increases for garbage pickup and the Port Angeles Regional Transfer Station on Tuesday.
The meeting will begin at 6 p.m., with the hearing to begin at about 6:30 p.m., in council chambers at City Hall, 321 E. Fifth St.
The 6 p.m. meeting will be preceded by a 5 p.m. special meeting during which council members will interview Nancy Powers, a city Planning Commissioner applicant, and hold an executive session to discuss potential litigation with legal counsel.
Other agenda items are:
■ The second part of a public hearing and consideration of a collection of financial policy revisions.
■ The first readings of ordinances issuing solid waste revenue bonds and limited tax general obligation bonds to pay for the multimillion-dollar effort to shift buried garbage back from a failing bluff near the city’s transfer station.
■ First reading of an ordinance implementing a city mixed-used overlay zone.
■ Approval of an update to the city’s personnel policy and procedures manual.
Sequim School Board
Sequim School Board members will discuss what to do next after voters rejected a proposed $154 million construction and renovation bond when they meet Tuesday.
The board will meet at 7 p.m. at 503 N. Sequim Ave.
The meeting was reset from Monday because of a scheduling conflict, the district said.
Voters rejected the proposed bond April 22.
The board also will discuss a superintendent evaluation and consider policy updates for the Highly Capable Programs, online learning and parental involvement.
Port Angeles School Board
The Port Angeles School Board will conduct a public hearing on a proposed sale of the property that once was the site of the shuttered Fairview Elementary School when it meets Thursday.
The hearing will be from 6:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the Port Angeles High School library, 304 E. Park Ave. A regular board meeting will follow the comment period at 7 p.m.
The board also plans an executive session at 5 p.m. and a Community Conversation at 5:30 p.m.
Clallam Transit
The Clallam Transit board will gather in Sekiu on Monday to facilitate the attendance of West End residents.
The meeting will begin at 1 p.m. at the Clallam Bay-Sekiu Community Center, 42 Rice St., Sekiu.
Agenda items include a construction agreement and memorandum of understanding with the city of Sequim and authorization of training and travel for the Washington State Public Transportation Conference in Yakima.
Marine Resources Committee
The Clallam County Marine Resources Committee will gather in Neah Bay for presentations on Makah oil spill prevention and response and the Makah tribal fisheries program Monday.
The meeting will begin at 5:30 p.m. in the marina conference room at Neah Bay.
The committee will also hear an update on oiled wildlife training and discuss next year’s projects.
Clallam PUD
The Clallam County Public Utility District commissioners’ meeting for Monday has been canceled.
The next meeting will be June 2 at the Sequim Library, 630 N. Sequim Ave.
Planning Commission
The Clallam County Planning Commission meeting for Wednesday has been canceled.
The next meeting will be June 4 at the Clallam County Courthouse.
