Clallam County commissioners will consider resolutions related to the creation of a county finance department Tuesday.
The meeting will begin at 10 a.m. in the commissioners’ board room (160) at the Clallam County Courthouse, 223 E. Fourth St., Port Angeles.
Commissioners decided to place a proposal to create a finance department on the November ballot after a public hearing July 31.
Other scheduled action items for the Tuesday meeting include:
• An agreement with Gold Buckle Rodeo Company to provide rodeo stock and personnel for the Clallam County Fair Rodeo.
• Contracts with the state Administrative Office of the Courts for the Becca program and Court Appointed Special Advocates services.
• Notice that a preliminary 2019 Clallam County budget will be available Sept. 11.
• A public hearing on a resolution affirming that Clallam County’s Comprehensive Plan and development regulations continue to comply with the state Growth Management Act.
The board will hold its weekly work session at 9 a.m. Monday.
Discussion items include:
• A memorandum of intent with Olympic National Park for federal funding for construction of a Spruce Railroad Trail segment.
• An agreement with the state Recreation and Conservation Office for the Lower Dungeness Floodplain Restoration project.
• A Shoreline Master Program update.
City of Port Angeles
The Port Angeles City Council will consider an employment agreement with City Manager Nathan West on Tuesday.
The meeting will begin at 6 p.m. in the City Council chambers at City Hall, 321 E. Fifth St.
West, the city’s community and economic development director since 2008, will replace retiring City Manager Dan McKeen in September.
Other agenda items for the council meeting include:
• Proclamations for Hodori Week, Music on the Strait and Peninsula Area Public Access.
• A public hearing on a proposed code change to allow ride-share services like Uber to operate in the city.
• A public hearing on a proposed 2018 budget amendment.
• The purchase of fire department gear.
The council will hold an executive session at 5 p.m. Tuesday to evaluate the qualifications of an applicant for public employment.
The special meeting will continue in an open session at 5:15 p.m. Tuesday for the council to hear a presentation from the Community and Economic Development Department on zoning and accessory residential units in Port Angeles.
Clallam PUD
Clallam County Public Utility District commissioners will consider an interlocal agreement and contract for the purchase and operation of a TransBanker, a transformer training lab, in Monday meeting.
The meeting will begin at 1:30 p.m. in the Lake Crescent Boardroom at the Carlsborg main office, located at 104 Hooker Rd.
Other agenda items include a staff recommendation to approve Energy Northwest’s undertaking of the Horn Rapids solar, storage and training project.
The commission will then enter into an executive session to evaluate the qualifications of candidates for appointment to elective office.
