The three Clallam County commissioners will discuss Clallam Public Defender’s proposal to continue to provide indigent defense services Monday.
The work session will begin at 9 a.m. in the commissioners’ boardroom (160) at the Clallam County Courthouse, 223 E. Fourth St., Port Angeles.
Clallam Public Defender has been providing criminal defense to those who cannot afford to hire their own attorney for more than 40 years.
The nonprofit agency was the only contractor to submit a bid proposal May 9.
Other discussion items for the work session include:
• A discussion on juvenile services tax revenue.
• An update from the Homelessness Task Force.
• An information technology request for the purchase of data storage expansion equipment.
• A discussion on the auditor’s office change of hours for vehicle/vessel licensing as of June 19.
• An agreement with the state Department of Transportation for the McDonald Creek-Old Olympic Highway bridge replacement project.
• A contract amendment with the Department of Health adding a statement of work and new funds for various programs.
Commissioners will hold their regular business meeting at 10 a.m.
Action items include:
• A contract amendment with Salish Behavioral Health Organization for amended rates for outpatient services.
• An agreement and settlement with Teamsters Local Union No. 589 for the Teamsters Pension Trust.
• An agreement with K&H Printers for the printing and mailing of 2017 primary election ballots.
• A contract amendment with the Jamestown S’Klallam Tribe for services being performed under the Department of Health Pollution Identification and Correction Plan.
Clallam PUD
Clallam County Public Utility District commissioners will consider a contract for pole inspection, treatment and reporting for 2017 when they meet Monday.
The meeting will begin at 1:30 p.m. in the Lake Crescent boardroom at the Carlsborg main office, located at 104 Hooker Road.
Commissioners also will consider the completion of a contract with Christensen Inc. for the Central Warehouse Facility remodeling.
Planning commission
The Clallam County Planning Commission will hold a work session to discuss the county’s shoreline master program update Wednesday.
The meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. in Room 160 at the Clallam County Courthouse.
Clallam Finance Committee
The Clallam County Finance Committee will discuss expenditures, revenues, investments and a transition audit when it meets Thursday.
The meeting will begin at 9 a.m. in Room 160 at the Clallam County Courthouse.
Port Angeles city
The Port Angeles City Council will conduct public hearings on amendments to the comprehensive plan and municipal code when it meets Tuesday.
The council will meet in regular session at 6 p.m. at City Hall, 321 E. Fifth St. A special meeting is set for 5:15 p.m. for a closed executive session to discuss potential litigation with legal counsel.
Proposed amendments to the city’s comprehensive plan are intended to meet the requirements of the state Department of Commerce and Growth Management Act.
Also under consideration is an amendment to the wetland ordinance in the municipal code.
The council also will consider an ethics ordinance revision and renaming the Lincoln Park Improvement Fund the Park Improvement Fund.
It also will consider contracts for tree trimming and Marine Drive sewer repair and a second amendment to the contract regarding the Elwha Dam removal project.
Sequim schools
The Sequim School Board will elect new officers when it meets Monday.
The board will meet in regular session at 6 p.m. at 503 N. Sequim Ave. The meeting will be preceded by a retirement reception for Marilyn Walsh, administrative assistant.
The board will elect a new president and vice president.
It will consider approving new school lunch prices for 2017-18.
It will hear a recommendation for English language arts curriculum and reports of the strategic planning process, Child Find and developmental preschool, and career and technical education.
Port Angeles schools
The Port Angeles School Board plans to vote on whether to work with the North Olympic Healthcare Network to have a school-based health center at Port Angeles High School when it meets Thursday.
The meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the Central Services Building, 216 E. Fourth St.

Olympic Medical Center
Olympic Medical Center commissioners will hear an update on the Olympic Medical Center Foundation when they meet Wednesday.
The meeting will begin at 12:30 p.m. in Linkletter Hall in the basement of the hospital at 939 E. Caroline St., Port Angeles.
Commissioners also will hear about contaminated soil hauling, a hospitalist employment agreement, a fluoroscopy equipment service agreement and oncology locums agreements.
