EYE ON CLALLAM: Commissioners to receive Economic Development Council report Tuesday

The three Clallam County commissioners will hear an annual report from the Economic Development Council in their work session Tuesday.

The work session will begin at 9 a.m. in the commissioners’ boardroom (160) at the Clallam County Courthouse, 223 E. Fourth St., Port Angeles.

Normally held Mondays, the work session was moved to Tuesday because the courthouse will be closed Monday for Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

Other items for discussion include:

■ A proposed agreement with the Olympic Peninsula Visitor Bureau for tourism services.

■ A proposed agreement with Kitsap, Jefferson and Mason counties and the Kitsap Public Health Division regarding the Hood Canal regional septic loan program.

■ An upcoming invitation for bids for the Carlsborg sewer project.

■ An agreement to purchase 0.02 acres of land for reconstruction of Lower Elwha Road.

Commissioners will hold their formal business meeting at 10 a.m. Tuesday.

Action items include:

■ An agreement with K&H Printers for the February special election.

■ A contract amendment with the state Department of Ecology increasing funding for a Dungeness Water Exchange grant.

■ An agreement with the North Olympic Regional Veterans’ Housing Network for case management and assessment services to veterans.

■ An agreement with Peninsula Behavioral Health for case management services in the Clallam County jail and a syringe services program.

■ An agreement with Jefferson County for distribution of funds allotted to Clallam County for the North Pacific Coast Marine Resources Committee.

■ A request for qualifications for surveying, engineering and environmental services.

■ Consideration of a final plat alteration to Van Riper’s Resort, a recreational vehicle park in Sekiu.

Planning commission

The Clallam County Planning Commission will discuss a general work plan for 2016 on Wednesday.

The meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. in Room 160 of the Clallam County Courthouse.

Other agenda items include a continued review of a draft Shoreline Master Program and a periodic review of the Growth Management Act.

Port Angeles city

Port Angeles City Council members will discuss options concerning water fluoridation and consider council assignments to the county Trust Lands Advisory Committee and other committees, boards and commissions when they meet Tuesday.

The regular meeting will begin at 6 p.m. at City Hall, 321 E. Fifth St.

It will be preceded by a 5 p.m. executive session that under state law bars the public from attending when the purpose is “to receive complaints brought against an employee” and to discuss potential litigation.

No action is expected after the executive session.

The regular meeting at 6 p.m. will include a discussion of Clallam County Economic Development Corp. funding.

The consent agenda includes a 2016 United Way contract for Health and Human Services funding, a recommendation for the Composite Recycling Technology Center board of directors, final acceptance of Georgiana Street sewer and stormwater improvements, and a North Olympic Library System building transfer.

Parks commission

Members of the Port Angeles Parks, Recreation and Beautification Commission will discuss the 2016 work plan when they meet Monday.

The monthly meeting will be at 6 p.m. in the Vern Burton Community Center meeting room, 308 E. Fourth St.

Commission members also will discuss 2015 end-of-year revenues and expenditures, a Vern Burton Memorial Wall plaque unveiling, athletic-field-use policy and the Parks and Recreation Facebook page.

Sequim School Board

The Sequim School Board will consider a policy concerning academic acceleration when it meets Tuesday.

The regular meeting will begin at 6 p.m. in the district boardroom at 503 N. Sequim Ave.

It will be preceded by a 5:30 p.m. workshop on Roberts Rules of Order.

The meeting has been moved from its Monday date to Tuesday because of the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday.

Under an academic acceleration policy, students who meet state standards in a particular area are automatically enrolled in the next most rigorous level of advanced courses.

Olympic Medical ­Center

Olympic Medical Center commissioners will hear an operations update when they meet Wednesday.

The meeting will begin at 6 p.m. in Linkletter Hall at the hospital at 939 Caroline St., Port Angeles.

Commissioners will consider an electrical engineering design for the emergency power system in the Port Angeles medical office building, a TrueBeam imaging equipment upgrade, a fluoroscopy Room II upgrade, a hospitalist locums agreement and board bylaw revision.

Clallam PUD

The Clallam County Public Utility District commissioners’ meeting for Monday has been canceled for Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

The next meeting will be Jan. 25.
