The three Clallam County commissioners will conduct a public hearing to consider a $250,000 budget emergency for the purchase of a security camera system for the county jail Tuesday.
The hearing will begin at 10:30 a.m. in the commissioners’ boardroom (160) at the Clallam County Courthouse, 223 E. Fourth St., Port Angeles.
Commissioners will begin the meeting at 10 a.m.
Agenda items include:
■ Proclamations recognizing October as Disability Employment Awareness Month and recognizing employers of individuals with developmental disabilities.
■ An agreement with the state Department of Social and Health Services for jail services.
■ Agreements with the state Division of Behavioral Health and Recovery providing contract language and funding for Cedar Grove Counseling and Specialty Services II.
■ A memorandum of understanding with Kitsap Public Health District, Whatcom County Health Department, King County Health Department, Thurston County Public Health, Mason County Public Health, Tacoma-Pierce County Health Department, Snohomish County, Grays Harbor County, Pacific Counties and the state departments of Health and Ecology for a regional on-site sewage system loan program.
■ Consideration of a quit claim deed transferring 20 acres from the road department to the parks department.
■ A resolution adopting supplemental budget appropriations.
Commissioners will meet at 9 a.m. today for their weekly work session.
Discussion items include a request to support an application for designation as a Coast Guard community.
A quarterly report from the state Department of Natural Resources will be delivered at 1 p.m. today.
Commissioners this week also will attend three budget forums and road shows.
The forums will be at 6 p.m. Tuesday in the commissioners’ meeting room; noon Wednesday at Blakeslee’s Bar & Grill in Forks, 1222 S. Forks Ave.; and 6 p.m. Thursday at the Sequim Transit Center, 190 W. Cedar St.
Sequim City Council
The Sequim City Council will consider pulling back from a target date of February for putting a metropolitan park district measure before voters when it meets today.
The meeting will begin at 5 p.m. with a study session at the Sequim Civic Center, 152 W. Cedar St.
“It is very unlikely we will be able to get a successful broad-based plan on the ballot by February, due to lack of positive interest,” city staff said in a memo to the council.
The council will consider allocating money toward a market study of a possible collaboration between the Olympic Peninsula YMCA and the Sequim Aquatic Recreational Center.
It also will consider supporting a proposed $49.3 million construction bond for the Sequim School District after taking public comment on it.
It will consider adoption of ordinances amending business licenses, deferring impact fees and changing the utility rate structure
Sequim Planning Commission
The Sequim Planning Commission will host a public meeting about the final draft of the Sequim 120 Comprehensive Plan on Tuesday.
The meeting will be at 6 p.m. at the Civic Center, 152 W. Cedar St.
The city’s comprehensive plan is a set of policies, maps and other directions that will guide the community’s growth and development for the next two decades.
Forks City Council
The Forks City Council will consider appointment of a representative to the Clallam County Trust Lands Advisory Committee when it meets today.
The council will meet at 7:30 p.m. at 500 E. Division St.
It also will discuss management of north coastal steelhead populations.
Port Angeles lodging tax panel
The Port Angeles Lodging Tax committee will meet Tuesday.
The meeting will be at 1 p.m. in the council chambers at City Hall, 321 E. Fifth St.
Clallam PUD
The Clallam County Public Utility District commission meeting originally set for today has been canceled.
The next regular meeting will be Oct. 5.
