EYE ON CLALLAM: Commissioners to eye recommended 2016 budget Monday

The three Clallam County commissioners will receive the county administrator’s recommended 2016 budget in their weekly work session Monday.

The meeting will begin at 9 a.m. in the commissioners’ boardroom (160) at the Clallam County Courthouse, 223 E. Fourth St., Port Angeles.

The work session also will preview items set for action at their formal meeting, which starts at 10 a.m. Tuesday.

They include agreements with Peninsula Behavioral Health, Concerned Citizens, Morningside and Pierce, Jones and Associates to people with developmental disabilities and an agreement with First Step Family Support Center for the Supported Parenting Project.

When commissioners reconvene Tuesday, they will consider resolutions for a hearing on proposed sale of tax title property and an appointment to the Park and Recreation Advisory Board.

Other agenda items include:

■ Supplemental appropriations of $23,886 for the Department of Health and $19,510 for sheriff’s operations.

■ A final plat approval for Jay and Lynne Jacobsen.

■ Public hearings at 10:30 a.m. on resolutions amending a policy on budget changes and modifications and amending a policy on classification, work hours and compensation.

Port of Port Angeles

Port of Port Angeles commissioners will receive the exit report of an accountability audit when they meet Tuesday.

The meeting will begin at 9 a.m. in port headquarters, 338 W. First St..

The audit report will be presented at 9:30 a.m. A report from the Clallam County Economic Development Council will follow at 10 a.m.

At 1 p.m., commissioners will reconvene for a work session on their 2016 operating budget, which will include proposed moorage rates at the Port Angeles Boat Haven.

Other agenda items include:

■ A resolution authorizing auction of a boat for nonpayment of moorage fees at the Boat Haven.

■ Appointments to the Clallam County Trust Lands Advisory Committee, which is being formed to study the feasibility of returning control of timber property from the state Department of Natural Resources to the county.

■ Acceptance of a heating/ventilation/air conditioning contract at the 1010 Building at William R. Fairchild International Airport and roof-repair contracts on Buildings 1020, 1030 and 1040.

■ A fourth change order to KPly mill site remediation work.

■ A request for reduced fees at the John Wayne Marina, Sequim.

Sequim City Council

Sequim City Council members will discuss a funding proposal for a YMCA feasibility study of the organization assuming management of the Sequim Aquatic Recreation Center when they meet Monday.

The meeting will begin at 6 p.m. at the Sequim Civic Center, 152 W. Cedar St.

The council also will conduct a public hearing on the city’s 2015-2035 comprehensive plan.

Other agenda items include a third-quarter report on the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Olympic Peninsula and a review of department budgets.

Olympic Medical ­Center

Olympic Medical Center commissioners will gather for a quarterly educational retreat to discuss the 2016-18 strategic plan Monday.

The retreat will be from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the sunroom of OMC, 939 Caroline St., Port Angeles.

No formal action will be taken.

Utility committee

Port Angeles Utility Advisory Committee members will discuss the Conservation and Renewable Energy Program Fund when they meet Tuesday.

The meeting will be at 3 p.m. in the Jack Pittis Conference Room at City Hall, 321 E. Fifth St.

The committee also will discuss an amendment to the industrial transmission electric rate ordinance.

The committee includes City Council members Lee Whetham, Sissi Bruch and Dan Gase, with Mayor Dan Di Guilio as an alternate.

Forks City Council

The Forks City Council will consider setting a public hearing on the water use efficient program when it meets Monday.

The council will meet at 7:30 p.m. at 500 E. Division St.

The council also will consider a police department filing access agreement and discuss management of north coastal steelhead, a state grant and review chapters in the city code.

Clallam Conservation District

Clallam Conservation District commissioners will discuss a celebration of the upgrade of the Dungeness Bay shellfish area when they meet Tuesday.

The commission will meet at 3 p.m. in Armory Square, 228 W. First St., Port Angeles.

It also will discuss issues with the Golden Sands community septic system and cooperator agreements.
