The three Clallam County commissioners will discuss a request for another code enforcement officer Monday.
The work session will begin at 9 a.m. in the commissioners’ boardroom (160) at the Clallam County Courthouse, 223 E. Fourth St., Port Angeles.
The county currently has one code enforcement officer, who is facing a two-year backlog.
Other discussion items for the work session include a county hiring and resource event and the disposal of remains of indigent persons.
Commissioners will hold their regular business meeting at 10 a.m. Tuesday.
Action items include:
• A resolution for the closure of Old Olympic Highway at the McDonald Creek bridge from July 5 through April 30, 2018.
• A resolution adopting supplemental appropriations.
• A resolution adopting budget revisions.
• An agreement with Green Alliance for Veteran Education to use a portion of Robin Hill Farm for agricultural purposes.
• An agreement with GreenWorks P.C. to update the existing Dungeness Recreation Area master plan.
• A contract amendment with the State Patrol for overtime reimbursement for its work with the Olympic Peninsula Narcotics Enforcement Team.
• A supplemental agreement with Berger ABAM Inc. to provide engineering services for the replacement of the McDonald Creek bridge.
• An agreement with the Quillayute Valley School District to provide education programs and transition services.
• A contract amendment with Concerned Citizens to add county millage for the Quillayute Valley School District.
• A call for bids for a courthouse boiler replacement project.
• Bid openings for a carpet replacement project for District Court, a roof replacement at the Clallam County jail and a ramp installation and repainting project at the Clallam County Veterans Center.
A public hearing will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday for board consideration of debatable budget emergencies.
Growth management
The Clallam County-Sequim-Port Angeles-Forks Growth Management Steering Committee will continue a review of a 1992 countywide planning policy Thursday.
The meeting will begin at 4 p.m. in Room 160 at the Clallam County Courthouse.
OMC, Forks Community Hospital
Olympic Medical Center and Forks Community Hospital and Jefferson Healthcare commissioners will meet in special session at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday.
Commissioners will meet in Ballroom III at Campbell’s Resort, 104 W. Woodin Ave., Chelan.
The groups will discuss organizational updates, an Olympic Community of Health update, advocacy and workforce development.
No action will be taken.
Port Angeles city
Port Angeles City Council members will discuss removing between eight and 20 trees at Lincoln Park that are encroaching on the William R. Fairchild International Airport aviation corridor when they conduct a special meeting Tuesday.
The meeting will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. in council chambers at City Hall, 321 E. Fifth St.
The flight-path obstruction has prompted the Federal Aviation Administration to place restrictions that could have an impact on nighttime emergency medevac flights, city Community and Economic Development Director Nathan West said Friday.
Council members Tuesday discussed canceling the next regular council meeting because it falls on the Fourth of July and a decision on removing the trees must be made before regular July 18 meeting, West said.
Council members also will discuss the Civic Field sound system and hold a work session on lodging tax funding policies.
The meeting will include a public comment period.
Sequim City Council
The Sequim City Council will conduct a public hearing amending the code to reflect an added damage deposit in its rates and fees when it meets at 5 p.m. Monday.
The council will meet at the Sequim Civic Center, 152 W. Cedar St. An executive session is planned on potential litigation.
The council will provide input on the proposed six-year capital improvement program and consider adoption of the 2018-23 Transportation Improvement Program.
It will consider adopting a regional agenda and a comprehensive emergency management plan update, as well as hear an update on remodeling the Guy Cole Convention Center.
It is expected to award a contract for the Fifth and McCurdy booster pump station.
Forks City Council
The Forks City Council will discuss the process for developing a police department vision statement when it meets at 7:30 p.m. Monday.
The council will meet at City Hall, 500 E. Division St.
It is expected to set a public hearing date for the 2018-23 Six-Year Street Plan and set a joint meeting with the Port of Port Angeles commissioners.
The council will consider bids for A, B and C streets and for the Spartan Avenue sidewalk project.
It will consider contracts for the Transportation Improvement Board emergency pavement repair project and for Campbell street rehabilitation as well as a license agreement with the VFW for use of property at Quillayute Airport.
Sequim School Board
The Sequim School Board will conduct a board planning work session from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday.
The special meeting will be in the boardroom at the Sequim School District Administrative Building at 503 N. Sequim Ave.
The public is invited to attend the work session. No public comment will be taken during this workshop.
Action may be taken.
The board will discuss self-assessment and goal-setting, updates of board policies, agenda template revisions, the calendar, legislative updates and planning for board conferences.
Quillayute Valley schools
The Quillayute Valley School Board will consider a collective bargaining agreement with public school employees of Forks when it meets at 6 p.m. Tuesday.
The board will meet in the library of Forks High School, 261 S. Spartan Ave.
It will consider approving the open doors program for Insight School of Washington and will discuss a board self-assessment.
Crescent schools
The Crescent School Board will conduct a public hearing on the 2017-18 budget when it meets at 6 p.m. Wednesday.
The special study session and public hearing will be in the Crescent School library at 50350 state Highway 112 in Joyce.
Clallam PUD
There will be no meeting of the Clallam County Public Utility District commissioners Monday or July 3.
The next meeting will be July 10.
