The three Clallam County commissioners when they meet Tuesday will consider contract amendments with the cities of Port Angeles and Sequim to cap jail costs so new flat rates can be negotiated beginning in 2015.
The meeting will begin at 10 a.m. in the commissioners’ boardroom (160) at the Clallam County Courthouse, 223 E. Fourth St., Port Angeles.
Other agenda items include:
■ A contract amendment with Systems for Public Safety Inc. increasing compensation.
■ A call for bids due Sept. 30 for an Elwha River interpretive gateway project along state Highway 112.
■ A resolution calling for a Sept. 30 hearing for debatable budget emergencies.
■ Notice that supplemental budget appropriations and a budget reduction will be adopted by resolution Sept. 30.
The weekly board work session was moved from Monday to 9 a.m. Tuesday because of Labor Day.
Scheduled discussed items include:
■ Amended agreements with Jefferson County and CRAFT3, formally Enterprise Cascadia, extending a performance period.
■ Proposed amendments to the administrative policy for employee benefits.
■ A contract supplement with the state Department of Transportation moving unspent funds into construction of the U.S. Highway 101 over-crossing and rest area in the Deer Park Road-Buchanan Drive area.
■ A state Department of Ecology grant application questionnaire for floodplain restoration of the lower Dungeness River.
■ A grant application questionnaire to Ecology for Marine Resources Committee activities.
Port Angeles City Council
The Port Angeles City Council will conduct a public hearing on a proposed utility-rate ordinance that would adjust rates for electric, wastewater and water users when it meets Tuesday.
The regular meeting will begin at 6 p.m. in council chambers at City Hall, 321 E. Fifth St.
It will be preceded by a special meeting at 5:30 p.m., when council members will interview Planning Commission candidate Brian Hunter.
Council members will consider appointing a member to the Planning Commission during their regular meeting.
Council members also will hear a report from City Manager Dan McKeen on Operation Strong Cities, sponsored by the Association of Washington Cities, “to engage and hold our state legislators accountable,” according to the association’s website at www.awcnet.org.

Planning Commission
The Clallam County Planning Commission will hear an update on the county’s update to the Shoreline Master Program on Wednesday.
The work session will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the commissioners’ meeting room (160) at the Clallam County Courthouse.
The after-hours entrance is located on the south side of the courthouse.
Olympic Medical Center
Olympic Medical Center commissioners will hear an update on plans for a medical office building in Port Angeles on Wednesday.
The meeting will begin at 12:30 p.m. in Linkletter Hall in the lower conference area of the hospital at 939 E. Caroline St., Port Angeles.
Other agenda items include new provider introductions, an advocacy update from a Washington State Hospital Association representative, information on a Salvation Army recovery program and a real estate purchase.
Port Angeles Parks Commission
The Port Angeles Parks Commission will consider renaming a ballfield when it meets Wednesday.
The special meeting will be at 3 p.m. in a meeting room at the Vern Burton Community Center, 308 E. Fourth St.
Commissioners have received a request to rename Lincoln Park ballfield 1.
Clallam PUD
There will be no meeting of the Clallam County Public Utility District commissioners Monday because of Labor Day.
The next meeting will be Sept. 8.
