Clallam County commissioners will discuss Serenity House funding a meeting that begins at 9 a.m. Monday.
The work session will begin at 9 a.m. in the commissioners’ board room (160) at the Clallam County Courthouse, 223 E. Fourth St., Port Angeles.
Serenity House of Clallam County has warned that it could close its night-by-night shelter May 15 unless it finds $200,000.
Other scheduled discussion items for the work session include:
• A grant application to the Office of Crime Victim Advocacy for victim witness assistance.
• A Washington Counties Risk Pool annual report and update.
• A grant application to the state Recreation and Conservation Office for the Dungeness Recreation Area master plan.
• A call for bids for a guardrail repair project.
• A request for qualifications from real estate brokerage firms for the sale of county-owned surplus properties.
• A request for final approval to alter a boundary line in Sunland.
Commissioners will hold a joint meeting with Port of Port Angeles commissioners in the same room at 11 a.m. Monday.
The Board of County Commissioners’ regular business meeting will begin at 10 a.m. Tuesday.
Action items include:
• An agreement with the state Military Department to support Operation Stonegarden activities.
• Agreements with the state Department of Ecology to promote the use of the Moderate Risk Waste Facility and for monitoring solid waste handling facilities and to assess non-permitted sites.
• A call for bids for a countywide guardrail project.
• A call for May 15 hearing on a proposal to repeal and replace landscaping requirements in the county code.
• An amended project completion document for the Carlsborg wastewater treatment and water reuse project.
Port/county joint meeting
Clallam County commissioners and Port of Port Angeles commissioners will hear about issues involving the state Department of Natural Resources when they meet at 11 a.m. Monday.
The meeting will be in the county commissioners’ meeting room at the Clallam County Courthouse.
DNR topics will be recent appointments to the solutions table and the Olympic Experimental State Forest Rural Partnership Program application to DNR.
Other topics will be quarterly reports from Clallam County Economic Development Corp., and the Small Business Development Center as well as an update on the Olympic Natural Resources Center.
City of Port Angeles
The Port Angeles City Council will discuss a proposal to address the housing shortage at 6 p.m. Tuesday.
The meeting will be in council chambers at City Hall, 321 E. Fifth.
Councilman Lindsey Schromen-Wawrin drafted an ordinance that would allow RVs and trailers to be used as temporary dwelling units.
The draft would undergo a full review before it would be considered for adoption.
Other agenda items for the meeting include:
• An amended contract with Lane Powell, PC to help the city ensure that the federal government fulfills its obligations to protect the quality and quantity of the city’s water supply.
• A collective bargaining agreement with IBEW Local 997.
• A discussion of agenda topics for a joint meeting with Clallam County commissioners on May 17.
Olympic Medical Center
Olympic Medical Center commissioners will hear an update on the strategic plan and advocacy of the Association of Washington Public Hospital Districts when it meets at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Commissioners will meet in Linkletter Hall in the basement of the hospital at 939 E. Caroline St., Port Angeles.
They also will hear of organizational chart changes, a Key Bank loan and a physical security system purchase.
Planning commission
The Clallam County Planning Commission will discuss options related to RV camping and living on private lots at 6 p.m. Wednesday.
The work session will be in Room 160 at the Clallam County Courthouse.
Fire District 3
Clallam County Fire District No. 3 commissioners will conduct a special meeting to review and edit the proposed draft commissioners handbook at 11 a.m. Tuesday.
The workshop will be at Fire District 3’s headquarters station at 323 N. Fifth Ave. in Sequim.
Clallam PUD
The Clallam County Public Utility District commissioners meeting for Monday has been canceled.
