Clallam County commissioners will hold a joint meeting with Port of Port Angeles commissioners to discuss economic impacts of the forest products industry at 10 a.m. Monday.
The meeting will be in the commissioners’ boardroom (160) at the Clallam County Courthouse, 223 E. Fourth St., Port Angeles.
Other agenda items include quarterly reports on the Clallam County Economic Development Corp., Composite Recycling Technology Center and Small Business Development Center.
Clallam County
Clallam County commissioners will review the 2018 administrator’s recommended budget at 10 a.m. Tuesday.
The meeting will be in the commissioners’ boardroom (160) at the Clallam County Courthouse.
Other agenda items include:
• A contract amendment with the state Department of Health to add new funding for public health emergency planning and response, WIC travel and foundation public health services.
• A contract with the state of Department of Ecology for the continued operation of the Clallam County Marine Resources Committee.
• A contract amendment with the state Department of Social and Health Services to provide $101,167.
• A contract with Nordland Construction NW Inc. for the Salt Creek Recreation Area water line and water station replacement project.
• A request for proposals/bid opening for the disposition of remains of indigent persons.
• An agreement and resolution with McKinley Paper Co. regarding utility franchise payments.
• Notice that supplemental appropriations and a budget reduction will be adopted by resolution Oct. 31 and a call for an Oct. 31 hearing for the consideration of debatable budget emergencies.
Commissioners will hold their weekly work session at 9 a.m. Monday to discuss items set for action in future meetings.
The work session will be continued to 9 a.m. Tuesday for the board to discuss indigent defense services.
Port Angeles city
The Port Angeles City Council will conduct a public hearing to receive input on 2018 revenue sources at 6 p.m. Tuesday.
The meeting will be in City Council chambers at City Hall, 321 E. Fifth St., Port Angeles. An executive session is set at 5 p.m. to discuss potential litigation and consider the minimum price at which real estate would be offered for sale or lease.
Other agenda items are a rate reduction for the solid waste transfer station and a call for hearing on the city’s proposed assumption of the transportation benefit district.
On its consent agenda, the council will consider Erickson Park camera upgrades and appointments to the Utility Advisory Committee and Planning Commission.
Port of Port Angeles
Port of Port Angeles commissioners will consider a proposal for a John Wayne Marina Waterfront Day in 2018 when they meet at 1 p.m. Monday.
The special meeting will be in commissioners’ chambers at 338 W. First St.
Commissioners also will hear an update on the Port Angeles Yacht Club, review part of the proposed 2018 operating budget, consider lease policies, delegation of authority and commission bylaws.
Clallam Transit
The Clallam Transit board will consider a transportation services contract with Olympic Community Action Programs at 1 p.m. Monday.
The meeting will be at the Clallam Transit System administration building at 830 W. Lauridsen Blvd.
Other agenda items include a memorandum of agreement for the regional reduced fare permit program, status updates, commendation to Employee of the Quarter Don Trautman and retirement recognition for Transit Operator Brian Kelly.
Clallam PUD
Clallam County Public Utility District commissioners will conduct a work session to review the 2018 draft budget and any potential rate adjustment at 1:30 p.m. Monday.
The meeting will be in the Lake Crescent boardroom at the Carlsborg main office at 104 Hooker Road.
Sequim schools
The Sequim School Board will consider approving a collective bargaining agreement with the Sequim Education Association when it meets at 6 p.m. Monday.
The board will meet in the district office, 503 N. Sequim Ave.
It will hear a report on state testing results and a presentation on the Sequim Options School. It will consider policy on excused and unexcused absences.
Marine resources panel
The Clallam County Marine Resources Committee will hold a meeting in Neah Bay at 5 p.m. Monday.
The meeting will be in the Marina Conference Room, 1301 Bayview Drive, Neah Bay.
Agenda items include a Makah tribal update, Northwest Straits Commission update, a discussion on future funding sources and project updates on the Dungeness River Festival, biotoxin monitoring, Olympia oyster restoration and eelgrass surveys.
Fire District No. 2
Clallam County Fire District No. 2 commissioners will conduct a special meeting to discuss the draft 2018 budget and a 1 percent levy increase at 9 a.m. Monday.
The work session will be at the district building at 1212 E. First St., Port Angeles.
Board of Health
The Clallam County Board of Health will discuss a secure medicine return ordinance at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday.
The meeting will be in Room 160 at the Clallam County Courthouse.
A hearing on the ordinance is planned for Nov. 7.
Other agenda items for Tuesday’s meeting include a draft environmental health fee schedule; a pollution, identification and correction plan; and introductions of a new community health nurse and administrative specialist.
Olympic Medical Center
Olympic Medical Center commissioners will consider an agreement with Aramark when they meet at 6 p.m. Wednesday.
The commission will meet in Linkletter Hall in the basement area of the hospital at 939 Caroline St. in Port Angeles.
Commissioners also will hear an operations update and consider contract signing authority.
Planning Commission
The Clallam County Planning Commission will discuss findings and conclusions to its recommended draft Shoreline Master Program update at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.
The meeting will be in Room 160 at the Clallam County Courthouse.
Other agenda items include findings and conclusions to two proposed rezones and a work session to discuss issues and areas of needed updates in the county’s subdivision code.
Port Angeles parks
The Port Angeles Parks, Recreation and Beautification Commission will discuss parks ordinance changes and hear presentations from representatives of the Lincoln Park BMX Association and Nature School at 6 p.m. Thursday.
The meeting will be in City Council chambers at City Hall.
Fire District 3
Clallam County Fire District 3 commissioners will consider a service delivery study update, volunteer pay reimbursement for the third quarter and financial reports at 1 p.m. Tuesday.
They will go into executive session before adjourning.
The district covers the east side of Clallam County with a small portion in Jefferson County.
