The three Clallam County commissioners will consider a resolution to rescind 2010 adoption of the Striped Peak Road Improvement District on Tuesday.
The meeting will begin at 10 a.m. in the commissioners’ boardroom (160) at the Clallam County Courthouse, 223 E. Fourth St., Port Angeles.
Commissioners adopted the junior taxing district in September 2010 to fund improvements to the road near Freshwater Bay.
A subsequent lawsuit challenged the validity of the formation of the district.
Other agenda items for the business meeting include:
■ An agreement with Dynamic Collectors to join Jefferson, Kitsap and Grays Harbor County courts for collection of outstanding fines and fees.
■ An agreement with the state Department of Archaeology and Historic Preservation for the rehabilitation of portions of the historic Clallam County Courthouse.
■ A bid opening for a section of the Olympic Discovery Trail.
Commissioners will meet in the same room at 9 a.m. Monday for their weekly work session to continue a June 2 discussion on a Comprehensive Solid Waste Management Plan.
A quarterly report from the state Department of Natural Resources is scheduled for 1 p.m. Monday.
Port Angeles Planning Commission
The Port Angeles Planning Commission will conduct the first part of a two-meeting public hearing on a city permit application for a proposed drug treatment clinic when they meet Wednesday.
The meeting will begin at 6 p.m. in council chambers at City Hall, 321 E. Fifth St.
The hearing will be on a conditional-use permit application for a chemical dependency treatment clinic proposed for the site of a former nursing home at 825 E. Fifth St.
The hearing will be continued to the commission’s June 25 meeting, when commissioners are expected to vote on the application.
Port of Port Angeles
Port of Port Angeles commissioners will receive an update on Lincoln Park tree removal when they meet Tuesday.
The meeting will begin at 9 a.m. in the public meeting room at the port administrative offices, 338 W. First St., Port Angeles.
Commissioners will hear a report on the joint port commission-Port Angeles City Council meeting that was held last Tuesday on tree-cutting proposals concerning the city-owned Lincoln Park and the port-owned William R. Fairchild International Airport.
Sequim City Council
The Sequim City Council will consider when it meets Monday exercising its power of eminent domain over an unoccupied building that it would demolish for a parking area for a new civic center.
The council will meet at 6 p.m. at the Sequim Transit Center, 190 W. Cedar St.
It will consider beginning condemnation and acquisition proceedings after an eminent domain public hearing on property at 191 W. Spruce St.
City staff say in a memo that the owners of the property want to sell to the city but that the entity that holds the owners’ financing has not expeditiously facilitated the short sale.
The council will discuss labor negotiations in an executive session.
The council also will consider:
■ A $121,335 stormwater master plan consultant contract with Herrera Environmental Consultants of Seattle.
■ A $169,934 contract with Lakeside Industries Inc. of Port Angeles to build ramps on East Fir Street sidewalks.
■ Adding sections of Washington Street and Fifth Avenue to the Jamestown S’Klallam tribe’s transportation program road inventory.
■ Appointments to the city arts commission.
Forks City Council
The Forks City Council will consider adopting the 2014 update of the Clallam County Solid Waste Management Plan when it meets Monday.
The council will meet at 7:30 p.m. at 500 E. Division St.
It also will consider investment in the local government investment pool and extension of a memorandum of understanding with the Clallam Bay Corrections Center for emergency response management.
Clallam PUD
Clallam County Public Utility District commissioners will discuss the use of technology as it pertains to the Public Records Act on Monday.
The work session will begin at 1:30 p.m. at the Port Angeles main office, 2431 E. U.S. Highway 101.
Clallam Conservation District
The Clallam Conservation District board will hear updates on a septic system repair cost-share program, pollution identification and correction plan, and aquifer recharge projects Tuesday.
The meeting will begin at 3 p.m. in Suite H of Armory Square, 228 W. First St., Port Angeles.
The board also will discuss the election of officers, the appointment of an associate supervisor, a personal services agreement with Brisk Printing for newsletter printing and cooperator and cost-share agreements.
Sequim schools
The Sequim School District Instructional Materials Committee will meet to review proposed instructional materials Thursday.
The meeting will begin at 3:30 p.m. in the district’s Professional Development Room, 503 N. Sequim Ave.
The committee will review proposed instructional materials for advanced placement U.S. history, AP language, AP economics, AP computer science and intensified algebra courses at Sequim High School.
Port Angeles Utility Advisory Committee
Port Angeles Utility Advisory Committee members will consider recommending an option on what to do with the city’s shuttered Morse Creek hydroelectric project when they meet Tuesday.
The meeting will begin at 3 p.m. in City Council chambers at City Hall, 321 E. Fifth St., and will also be a special meeting of the full council.
The facility, which historically had generated 0.3 percent of the city’s power, ceased operation in April 2012 after a key mechanical piece failed.
Other agenda items include:
■ A recommendation on the Clallam County Comprehensive Solid Waste Management Plan.
■ Verbal reports on the city’s 2015 public works capital facilities plan and radio-frequency emissions.
