The three Clallam County commissioners will discuss Monday a proposed resolution adopting a comprehensive solid waste management plan.
The work session will begin at 9 a.m. in the commissioners’ boardroom (160) at the Clallam County Courthouse, 223 E. Fourth St., Port Angeles.
Commissioners also will review two farmland preservation grants for permanent agricultural conservation easements for submission by the North Olympic Land Trust to the state Wildlife and Recreation Program.
A briefing with the Washington Counties Risk Pool is scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday.
The regular board meeting will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday.
Agenda items include:
■ A contract amendment with the state Department of Social and Health Services correcting an identification error in a previous amendment.
■ An agreement with the state Department of Transportation to provide engineering or other services on a reimbursable basis.
■ An agreement for 0.74 acres of donated land for the Blyn-to-Jefferson County segment of the Olympic Discovery Trail.
■ A resolution of intent to renew Lake Sutherland Management District 2 and set a July 8 public hearing.
■ Notice of the June 24 adoption of supplemental appropriations.
■ A resolution calling for a June 24 hearing for debatable budget emergencies.
■ A resolution calling for a June 17 hearing on proposed amendments to the six-year Transportation Improvement Program.
■ Notice of a June 17 hearing on regional allocation of surface transportation funds.
Port Angeles city/Port of Port Angeles
The Port Angeles City Council and Port of Port Angeles commissioners will discuss removing eight city-owned trees to free the port’s William R. Fairchild International Airport from Federal Aviation Administration landing restrictions when they meet Monday.
The joint meeting will begin at 10 a.m. in council chambers at City Hall, 321 E. Fifth St., and will include a public comment period.
Council members will vote on the eight-tree removal plan, which would allow the removal of specific trees from the western portion of the city-owned Lincoln Park so FAA restrictions on landing on runway 26 can be lifted.
They are expected to vote on a memorandum of agreement on how to develop a long-term solution to trees blocking full use of runway 26.
Port Angeles city
The Port Angeles City Council will consider garbage rate hikes, a West End Park construction contract and an agreement that could lead to the termination of the city’s “smart” meter contractor contract Tuesday.
The meeting will begin at 6 p.m. in council chambers at City Hall, 321 E. Fifth St.
The council is expected to vote on proposed garbage and transfer station rate increases after a continued public hearing at about 6:30 p.m.
They also will consider a “standstill” agreement with the city’s smart meter installer, Mueller Systems, that would suspend all work on the project and provide a 60-day window for the city and Mueller to negotiate a termination of the city’s contract with Mueller.
Additionally, council members will consider a not-to-exceed-$140,000 contract amendment with West Monroe Partners, the city’s consultant on the smart meter project, for technical support on negotiations with Mueller.
They will consider a $1.01 million construction contract with Port Angeles-based Bruch and Bruch Construction for the “pocket beaches” portion of the city’s West End Park project, which would lie just west of the downtown esplanade.
Other agenda items include:
■ A public hearing on the city’s 2015-20 transportation improvement program, with the hearing to continue to the June 17 council meeting.
■ Ordinances issuing municipal bonds to fund landfill bluff stabilization.
■ An ordinance implementing a mixed-use zoning overlay for commercial zones.
■ A labor contract with the union representing sworn police officers.
Sequim School Board
The Sequim School Board will discuss filling the board vacancy created by Sarah Bedinger’s resignation when it meets Monday.
The board will meet at 7 p.m. at 503 N. Sequim Ave.
Bedinger announced May 20 that she would step down from her position representing the western side of the school district June 16.
Clallam PUD
Clallam County Public Utility District commissioners will hold their board meeting in Sequim on Monday.
The meeting will begin at 1:30 p.m. at the Sequim Library, 630 N. Sequim Ave.
Agenda items include a bid award for 37 fiberglass transmission poles.
Planning Commission
The Clallam County Planning Commission will review proposed revisions to the draft Comprehensive Stormwater Management Plan on Wednesday.
The work session will begin at 6:30 p.m. in Room 160 at the Clallam County Courthouse.
The after-hours entrance is located on the south side of the building behind the Fourth Street bus stop.
Olympic Medical Center
The Olympic Medical Center commissioners’ meeting for Wednesday has been canceled.
The next regularly scheduled board meeting is June 18.
