Clallam County commissioners will conduct a public hearing Tuesday on a proposed ordinance adding a chapter in the county code for vacation rentals.
The hearing will begin at 10:30 a.m. in the commissioners’ boardroom (160) at the Clallam County Courthouse, 223 E. Fourth St., Port Angeles.
Commissioners will begin their regular business meeting at 10 a.m. Tuesday.
Action items include:
• A supplemental agreement with BergerABAM Inc. for the preparation of plans, specifications and an estimate for the Old Olympic Highway McDonald Creek bridge replacement project.
• Contracts with Pierce, Jones & Associates, Morningside and Concerned Citizens for the provision of services.
• A rejection of bids for the county courthouse boiler replacement project.
• A bid opening for a countywide intersection and road repair project.
• A final prospectus with the county Road Administration Board for a paving project on Carlsborg Road.
• Notice of a Sept. 6 hearing on an ordinance establishing interim zoning controls.
Commissioners will hear briefings on a Cascadia Rising emergency response drill action plan and the Dungeness floodplain restoration project in their weekly session at 9 a.m. Monday.
Other discussion items include:
• An agreement with the Administrative Office of the Courts for BECCA programs and services.
• An easement purchase for the Olympic Discovery Trail.
• A discussion to include Valley Center Place and Harrison Road into the county road system as county roads.
• A modified agreement with Western Federal Lands Highway Division for improvements to East Beach Road.
• A contract amendment with Salish Behavioral Health Organization for changes to the membership.
• A discussion on budget modifications to clarify the wording on the Clallam County expenditure/revenue modification form.
Port of Port Angeles
Port of Port Angeles commissioners will hear a review of the Cascadia Rising earthquake drill and the strategic plan for budget development process during a work session Monday.
The work session will begin at 9 a.m. at port headquarters, 338 W. First St. It will be followed by a business meeting at 1 p.m.
Commissioners also will consider delegation of authority for the executive director at the morning meeting.
During the afternoon meeting, commissioners will consider the Olympic View Airport Loop and a small community air service development program grant, as well as amendment of bylaws.
On Thursday will be the ribbon-cutting for the Composite Recycling Technology Center. The ceremony will be from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Composites Manufacturing Campus, 2138 W. 18th St., Port Angeles.
Forks City Council
The Forks City Council will discuss draft ordinances amending the criminal code regarding disorderly conduct when it meet Monday.
The council will meet at 7:30 p.m. at City Hall, 500 E. Division St.
The council also will consider setting a public hearing date for the general sewer/wastewater facility plan.
It will consider a budget amendment and timber sales at Quillayute Airport.
Library system
The North Olympic Library System board will hear an annual review of the Clallam Bay Library when it meets in Clallam Bay on Thursday.
The board will met at 5:30 p.m. at the library, 16990 state Highway 112.
The board also will consider a revision to the system’s policy on privacy and consider approval of disposal of surplus equipment.
The North Olympic Library System oversees public libraries in Port Angeles, Sequim, Forks and Clallam Bay.
Clallam PUD
The Clallam County Public Utility District commissioners’ meeting for Monday has been canceled.
The next regular meeting will be held on Aug. 29.
