Ever want a Crown Victoria patrol car? Here’s your chance

C’mon, admit it: You really want that white 1995 Ford Crown Victoria, the kind Clallam County Sheriff’s deputies used to drive.

Imagine how you’ll feel parked by the side of the road and watching passing cars’ front bumpers bob as they hit the brakes, thinking that you’re running a speed trap.

Consider the rush you’ll get when you fill another driver’s rear-view mirror — and then some, considering the Crown Vic’s bulk — and that driver slows down until his car’s speedometer needle rests precisely on the posted limit.

The Crown Vic, without the police regalia, can be yours on Sept. 13, one of four of a kind up for bid at the county’s Port Angeles road shops, 1033 W. Lauridsen Blvd., all resting from their 13 years of helping keep the peace.

Starting at 10 a.m., preceded by an hour of viewing items, this will be the last auction of its kind of Clallam County surplus equipment.
