PORT ANGELES — The Esprit Gala is hosting two events open to the public this weekend.
Esprit Gala is the Pacific Northwest’s largest transgender convention. The convention, held at the Red Lion Hotel since 1990, begins on Mother’s Day. The gala has offered a week’s worth of classes and events for the LGBT community.
A talent show will be open to the public at 6 p.m. Friday at the Naval Elks Lodge on First Street. It will feature singers, dancers and comedians.
On Saturday at 6 p.m., there will be a gathering offering a live band and dancing at the Red Lion Hotel at 221 N. Lincoln St.
Both events are for those 21 and older. Suggested donation of $5 is asked for each event. All of the profits are donated to Volunteer Hospice of Clallam County.
The convention will end on Sunday.
