Joy in Mudville to play Port Angeles venue
PORT ANGELES — Joy in Mudville, the band specializing in rootsy rock, bluegrass and blues, arrives at Barhop Brewing, 124 W. Railroad Ave., for a no-cover-charge gig tonight.
The music will start around 8:30 p.m. courtesy of Jason Mogi, Kim Trenerry, Paul Stehr-Green, Terry Smith and Colin Leahy.
“We plan to bring back some tunes from the Tongue & Groove era,” Stehr-Green said, referring to one of Mogi and Trenerry’s former bands.

Jazz Band of Six
PORT TOWNSEND — Robin Bessier’s Band of Six will arrive at the Cellar Door on Tuesday, bringing in swing, blues and Latin music.
There’s no cover charge to listen to vocalist Bessier with guitarist Elaine Gardner-Morales, bassist Ted Enderle, trombone man Rex Rice, saxophonist-clarinetist Kurt Festinger and drummer Tom Svornich play from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.
The Cellar Door, which serves food and drink along with the live music, is at 940 Water St.
Maria Muldaur set in Port Townsend
PORT TOWNSEND — Songstress Maria Muldaur, she of the 1974 mega-hit “Midnight at the Oasis,” will come to the USO Hall at Fort Worden State Park, 200 Battery Way, next Saturday, Oct. 4.
The evening, titled “Way Past Midnight,” will begin as doors open at 6:30 p.m.
General admission is $25 while a dinner and show package, with a Southern-style menu, is available for $55.
