Tryouts for ‘Lark Eden’ set in Sequim
SEQUIM — Auditions for a readers’ theater staging of “Lark Eden,” a comic look at the friendship of three Southern women, are set for 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Olympic Theatre Arts, 414 N. Sequim Ave.
This new play calls for three women, ages 35 to 65: Thelma, a Christian who yearns to be a good mother; Mary, who is smart-mouthed and spirited; and Emily, who’s desperately seeking something to believe in.
The production will take Olympic Theatre Arts’ Gathering Hall stage May 8-17, replacing the previously scheduled play, “The Birthday Party” by Harold Pinter.

Friends of Brubeck at Peninsula College
PORT ANGELES — The music of Dave Brubeck will fill Maier Performance Hall at Peninsula College next Friday, March 27, as the Friends of Brubeck arrive.
In this 7 p.m. concert, pianist Linda Dowdell, saxophonist Craig Buhler, drummer Terry Smith and bass man Ted Enderle will pay tribute to the late jazzman, composer of classics such as “Take Five,” “Blue Rondo a la Turk” and “Three to Get Ready.”

Free art party
PORT ANGELES — Drink and Draw, an evening of art-making at The Loom lounge adjacent Studio Bob, 118½ E. Front St., is open to all ages every Thursday evening.
Doors open at 7 p.m.; then clothed models pose and artists of any kind are encouraged to draw, paint, or even sculpt them in clay.
There’s no admission charge, while soft drinks and other beverages are available for purchase from The Loom.
