Songbird flies home for the weekend

SEQUIM — Sarah Shea, the Sequim-bred singer who now lives in Seattle, is back for a few days and planning to sing in two local venues.

There’s no cover charge to hear Shea at Wind Rose Cellars, 143 W. Washington St., on Saturday night; she and her band, Chez Jazz, will play from 7 p.m. to

9 p.m.

Then on Sunday, Shea will sing for patrons in the noon and 2 p.m. Easter brunch seatings at Nourish, the cafe at 101 Provence View Lane.

Shula Azhar belly dancing

PORT ANGELES — The award-winning belly-dance troupe Shula Azhar will fill Wine on the Waterfront, an all-ages venue, with their veils, skirts and scarves tonight.

The performance begins at 7:30 p.m. at WoW, which is upstairs in The Landing mall at 115 E. Railroad Ave.

Guests are encouraged to come early to ensure seating.

Dance party set April 11

PORT TOWNSEND — A rock ’n’ roll dance party featuring music by the Copy Cats & Friends plus a dessert auction, 50-50 raffles and a photo booth is set for next Saturday, April 11.

The event, a benefit for the Port Townsend Kiwanis’ projects for local children, will go from

6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the Port Townsend Elks Club, 555 Otto St.

Tickets are $15 and available only in advance at Maricee’s at 913 Water St. or the Key City Playhouse at 419 Washington St. in downtown Port Townsend.

No tickets will be sold at the door.

Call for performers

PORT ANGELES — Arts Northwest, the nonprofit producer of the annual Northwest Booking Conference for performing artists, is accepting applications now through Monday only for the 35th annual conference in Boise, Idaho, in October.

The conference is a showcase for bands, dance troupes, singer-songwriters and other performing ensembles and solo acts.

Arts organizations — such as festival and series producers across the Northwest — come to see the performances as they plan their seasons.
