PORT ANGELES — The deadline for submitting proposals to provide legal services for the Olympic Peninsula Small Business BOOST! program is Wednesday, while the deadline for marketing services proposals is Jan. 13.
The program is awarding more than $400,000 in contracts for legal and marketing services to those who want to assist small businesses located in underserved areas in Clallam, Jefferson and Grays Harbor counties.
It runs from January through May 31, as a joint project of the Clallam County Economic Development Council, the Grays Harbor Chamber of Commerce and Economic Development Council and the Economic Development Council of Jefferson County.
Among its components are free legal marketing services to small businesses, startups and nonprofits that may need anything from assistance to setting up an LLC to establishing a website.
The EDC partners are anticipating awarding two to four contracts totaling about $120,000 for legal services and three to nine contracts totaling about $300,000 for marketing services. They will identify the businesses that will receive legal and marketing support and the types of services each will be provided.

The program is supported by a $1.3 million Small Business Innovation Fund grant from the state Department of Commerce and comes out of $34.5 million in American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funding dedicated to spurring small business innovation, recovery and growth in rural and underserved areas around the state.
