Positions to fill
Volunteers can fulfill a variety of roles with the department, including firefighting, station maintenance, public education, tender operations and EMS response.
Volunteer resident firefighters typically join the department in pursuit of a career in the fire service.
EJFR pays for their training to become IFSAC Firefighter I and National Registry Emergency Medical Technician (EMT-B) certified.
Residents usually work a 48-hour per week shift alongside career firefighters and receive a monthly stipend.
The fire district also will coordinate and pay for EMT certification for volunteers interested only in EMS duties.
