Construction and maintenance are expected to cause delays for drivers on some sections of U.S. Highway 101 and state highways in the North Olympic Peninsula this week.
In addition, today, drivers may find many bicyclists on state Highway 116 from Chimacum to Fort Flagler State Park during the Fort2Fort Charity Bike Ride, the state Department of Transportation said.
Bicyclists are expected on both sides of the highway between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m.
Intermittent one-way alternating traffic is expected from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday on a 12-mile stretch of Highway 101 along Lake Crescent as crews fill potholes on both lanes, the state Department of Transportation said.
Crews will dig up portions of the road, fill them with new asphalt and grind the pavement from just west of Camp David Jr. Road to East Beach Road — from milepost 220 to milepost 232.
Delays of 15 minutes are expected.
From 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Thursday, drivers could encounter one-way alternating traffic on Highway 101 between Shore Road and Old Gardiner Road, from Mileposts 257 to 278.
Crews will trim brush on the roadside.
Brush trimming will create delays within the Port Angeles city limit on Highway 101 from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday.
Drivers could encounter one-way alternating traffic between the city limit and state Highway 117, which is Tumwater Truck Route — from Mileposts 244 to 246.
On Tuesday, crews will trim brush from the side of Tumwater Truck Route between 7 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.
One-way alternating traffic is expected at various locations from the route’s intersection with Highway 101 to West Third Street — Mileposts 0 to 1.2.
Brush trimming will move east Wednesday and Thursday, when crews will work on the Highway 101 road side between Deer Park Road and Shore Road — Milepost 253 to 257.
Drivers should expect single lane closures on either lane between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m.
Tree-trimming work will lead to one-way alternating traffic from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday on state Highway 19 between Anderson Lake Road and Prospect Avenue — Mileposts 10 to 13.
