PORT ANGELES — About a dozen vehicles were burglarized Thursday, and police are searching for more information on the crimes.
The vehicles were all at Evergreen Collision Repair and Towing’s storage area in Port Angeles.
The vehicle owners had not been contacted on Thursday.
The business, 820 E. Front St., reported that the vehicles had been broken into between 1 a.m. and 3 a.m. Thursday.
“They got inside the cars and took some items from inside, but they didn’t take the cars themselves,” said Sgt. Tyler Peninger.
Car stereos and speakers were taken from the vehicles, he said.
Police call burglarizing vehicles “car prowls.”
So far, police have no leads, Peninger said, adding that police have interviewed Evergreen employees and are searching for witnesses.
“We don’t know yet if one, or more than one, person did this,” Peninger said. “The owners of the cars are also not always clear.”
