BLYN — An estimated 1,000 customers lost electrical power Thursday when lines were knocked down by falling trees, according to the Clallam Public Utility District.
PUD crews begin work to to restore power on Wilcox Lane and Port Williams Road and in Blyn at about 3:45 p.m. Thursday.
Lines also were reported on the ground burning near the west end of Chicken Coop Road shortly after 4 p.m.
Clallam PUD spokeswoman Nicole Hartman said at 4:10 p.m. that power had been restored on Wilcox and crews were moving on to Chicken Coop Road and Blyn.
The state Department of Transportation said that the eastbound lane of U.S. Highway 101 was blocked at milepost 273, which is in Blyn, until further notice.
