SEQUIM — Hundreds of dogs showed off in breed and obedience trials at the Hurricane Ridge Kennel Club’s 14th Annual Dog Show on Friday and Saturday.
More events are planned today from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the Blake family property adjacent to Carrie Blake Park in Sequim.
To participate in the breed contests, a dog must be registered with the American Kennel Club and must be purebred, said Elaine Booker, treasurer for the Hurricane Ridge Kennel Club, who added that the show features canines from all over the country.
Participants can earn points toward a championship or even complete earning points toward a championship or obedience title, Booker said.
The public is invited to watch the events and admire the dogs.
Organizers ask that observers refrain from making excessive noise or movements that could distract dogs.
Admission for observers is free. Parking is $3.
Dogs not participating are not allowed on the site.
