Displays of innovation: Building expo to feature demonstrations, 78 vendors in Sequim

SEQUIM — Nearly 80 vendors will show off the latest and greatest innovations for homes at the 13th annual Building, Remodeling & Energy Expo in Sequim this weekend.

The two-day, free expo will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Sequim High School gymnasium, 601 N. Sequim Ave.

“We have lots of different exciting exhibitors,” said FaLeana Wech, executive officer and government affairs director for the North Peninsula Building Association, which is hosting the event.

In addition to displays of anything one could need while constructing or remodeling, the expo will emphasize energy conservation.

“The [Clallam County Public Utility District] will be there to talk about energy efficiency, and we’ll have plenty of demonstrations and presentations this year to help people make the most energy-efficient home possible,” Wech said.

Vendors will include carpet companies, security companies and banks.

Food will be available, as well. Mystery Bay Catering will man a booth selling clams, oysters, clam chowder and hamburgers.

One of the displays this year will be constructed out of insulated concrete forms by Logix, one of the event sponsors.

The capstone sponsor for the event is the Clallam County PUD.

Other sponsors include Angeles Millwork & Lumber Co., Hartnagel Building Supply, Bliemeisters’ Wood Works, First Federal, KSQM 91.5 FM, Sequim Gazette, Wave Broadband and West Coast Vinyl.

Demonstrations will run throughout both days.

“We have two days full of exciting topics,” said Wech.
