DIAMOND POINT — The state Department of Transportation is leading a search for a small plane that left Diamond Point Airport on Sunday and never reached its destination.
The single-engine Cessna 170 left Auburn on Sunday afternoon and arrived at Diamond Point Airstrip with two men on board.
Witnesses saw the plane depart from Diamond Point later that afternoon, but it never returned to Auburn as scheduled.
Family members reported the plane overdue Monday afternoon.
