SEQUIM — Dental health will be the topic of the next WOW! Working on Wellness Forum set for 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 12.
Dr. Richard “Bud” Davies and Errin Aidane, a registered dental hygienist (RDH) will present a free talk, “Better Dental Health For You” at Trinity United Methodist Church, 100 S. Blake Ave.
Checking for tooth decay is just one part of a thorough dental examination, they said.
The dentist or dental hygienist also likely will evaluate gum health, examine the head and neck and look for signs of oral cancer, diabetes, or vitamin deficiencies. A dentist also might examine a patient’s face, bite, saliva and movement of lower jaw joints.
Davies has treated the dental needs of the Sequim community since 1991. Aidane has worked in dentistry for 30 years in both Oregon and Washington.
WOW! Working on Wellness is a health education program of Dungeness Valley Health & Wellness Clinic — Sequim’s free clinic. The clinic provides basic urgent care and chronic health care services to uninsured community members.
The Basic Urgent Care Clinic is open to patients Monday and Thursday evenings beginning at 5.
