SEQUIM — The Daughters of the American Revolution will clean headstones at 1 p.m. Sunday.
The headstones are located in the cemetery area of Pioneer Memorial Park, 387 E. Washington St.
The park was established in 1951 on the site of Sequim’s first cemetery.
The cemetery was abandoned and most of the interred remains were removed due to frequent flooding from Bell Creek.
The remaining headstones mark the graves of pioneers for whom no living relative could be located to authorize their burial transfer.
The public is invited to attend and help maintain the park.
