PORT ANGELES — The DAISY Foundation has recognized Shawn Gould with its DAISY leadership award.
Gould is the oncology nurse manager at Olympic Medical Cancer Center.
The annual award recognizes compassionate leadership provided by nurse leaders who create an environment of care.
The foundation, which takes its name from the acronym Diseases Attacking the Immune System, was established by the family of J. Patrick Barnes, who died in 1999 from complications of the auto-immune disease idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura.
