WHILE POWER WAS restored to many North Olympic Peninsula customers overnight, others were still without electrical service on Saturday.
As of 3:45 p.m. Saturday, the Clallam Public Utility District estimated that about 5,500 residential and business customers were still waiting for restoration.
Outages range from Gardiner and Blyn to Joyce. Most of the reported West End outages have been cleared up.
The Jefferson Public Utility District did not report any significant outages.
According to the Clallam PUD’s website at clallampud.net, the utility had reduced the number of unpowered customers from 12,000 at 6 a.m. to 5,488 at 3:45 p.m.
Power was restored to the Port Angeles-Agnew area at 10:25 p.m. Friday after Bonneville Power Administration crews completed repairs on an 230 kV line in the Fairmount area.
Customers in Sequim had their power restored at 11:32 p.m., said the utility.
BPA re-energized its connection at Sappho at about 5 a.m.
On Saturday morning, the PUD said its crews are working to restore power to West End customers and to those affected by isolated outages across the county.
